After only 15min of watching I can’t say how excited I am to see what else you can teach people. It’s extremely generous of you to share your knowledge. PLEASE make a patreon with scene files or anything extra you’d spend the time on. I bet a lot of people would participate. cheers and keep it up
Amazing tutorial Sebastian. I've been a comper for a long time and I have to say there are many techniques you have highlighted here that I haven't used before. Super informative and helpful. Thank you for putting this together!
Thank you very much! Let me know if you have any more questions. I'm also slowly updating my website with a blogpost version of this episode and you will be able to download the setups used. splitthediff.com/utn-blur-p1/
A fantastic amount of information in this video. The bookmarks of each section were greatly appreciated. I was looking for ways to more accurately simulate lens effects for a still life project I was working on when I searched and found your videos. I actually happened to be working on the same Arvid's Still Life project myself featured around 24mins in. I couldn't have asked for a better breakdown and set of examples.
Thank you so much Mark! It's always great to get in-depth feedback. I really appreciate it and I'm very happy that the effort of producing this video paid off and it was of help to you.
Thank God finally some channel which doesn't produce button pushers and shows the science behind come. Would love to see a series on how to get into comp, what is the most essential bare minimum level knowledge to start in the comp world at Junior level and moving up to Mid. Hope you continue to share this knowledge.
Thank you very much for your feedback. I noticed that there are tons of videos out there scratching only the surface or like you said "only produce button pushers". I'm glad my concept worked out. I really like your idea of an "essential knowledge for a start into comp" video (series). I'll definitely put that on my list :)
@@SplitTheDiff if your idea works you will save humanity $45000 school fee for someone in Vancouver going to some schools just to learn basic stuff and with no surety of getting a job in the end.
This is a superb video Sebastian, I definitely learned a few things here, 38 minutes flew by. Please keep this content up as it's applicable for all levels of artist. Thanks!
This is great - I'm just getting into using Nuke but I like to look ahead in terms of learning and this is very interesting! Looking forward to the next episodes
Thank you very much! I'm glad you like the approach. The intention was indeed to have it very dense and viewers can pause and revisit, instead of having minutes gone by without any information.
Great video! Really good. You used a lot of merge operations and I got interested on it. Started to study the math behind each one, throught documentation, but I really would like to see how they are really applied.
Thank you very much for your feedback and it's great to see that you felt motivated to dig a little deeper. I'm actually planning a future episode about the different Merge operations. So stay tuned :)
@@SplitTheDiff Can't wait to see your presentation on the different merge operations and the math involved. Thanks for a REALLY great video, I loved this!

Thank you very much! I'm really glad you liked it. I have been playing with the thought of creating a Patreon account, so maybe there will be something coming up in the future :) Also, I have been working on the next episode (which will actually be divided into 2 parts). The first part should drop within the next week. Happy New Year!
