Ron-Za, a distinguished member of the Kandorian Science Police, follows Superman to Earth to take over Superman's job. It doesn't work out so hot for Ron-Za when he's caught in a trap designed for the Man of Steel in a deserted old junkyard. He almost perishes, but the real Man of Steel swoops in to save the day.
This book and record set was released in 1975 by Power Records, a division of Peter Pan records. During the 1970s, Power Records released a number of storybook records based on comic and television characters, such as Superman, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, Batman, The Six Million Dollar Man, Star Trek, Space: 1999, and many more. This set included a 16-page large format comic book and a 33 1/3 vinyl LP that played along with the comic.
These book and record sets are out of print and difficult to find, often fetching ridiculous sums on eBay due to their value among collectors. This set contained two stories, of which this is the first. The second one is Superman: Tommorrow the World.
