As the diver on the rig, this is the basket they lower me to water and then brought me back aboard, Took my speargun on a recreational dive every night and the cook loved it.. nothing better than fresh fish from the sea to the dining room table.
I would've thought harnesses with safety lines & carabiners hooked on to the basket would be standard procedure but apparently holding on for dear life is deemed sufficient!
This is 800 series basket, however, X904 series has those harnesses with one end fixed in the frame and the other end is hook-able to the pax, also, X904 is repairable, refurbish-able for recertification and not collapsable on pax in case crane operator slacked the line while 800 series is not and must be removed from services after two years of first use if well stored.
if there is a malfunction with the Crane....or if... the basket is fixing to slam into the rig or hit anything. There is no time to disconnect.... pray and jump
Did this quite a few times. It's better not to look down. But if you do hopefully you have a spot of Blue Water picked out just pray there aren't any sharks or barracudas down there.
basket transfer ni dimana? di area terengganu n kelantan offshore ada ke ? sbb ada few video sy tgk dorg xguna basket transfer. just jump to another boat guna tali.. video youtube "cabaran kerja offshore" ..
suya yani di trengganu ada ni.... Pernah guna dulu dlm tahun 90an.... Transfer dr platform ke tugboat ke storage ship n viceversa.... gerun juga tp enjoy....

I loved this part! Such a thrill to break up the monotony out there.
Yeah, I always liked the basket ride. This video shows a very controlled transfer, on a calm day. Try it at night during a storm - yeehaa!
I really miss that. That's some Tarzan Rush kind of stuff.

Hello bro.
TALISMAN ENERGY
Hey friend... Question why stand outside versus inside? Is that like a standard method to get on and transfer
It is a collapsible basket. If it hits the deck and starts to collapse, you don't want to be inside it.
I saw a galley hand climb inside once, probably afraid of heights
