It's that time of the year again which means another snippet compilation and a recap of everything related to Oliver that happened over the last 12 months. Honestly the snippet compilation is on the shorter side, a bit like 2020 but it's not bad, there's some really sick songs in there that I'm looking forward to hearing hopefully sooner then later. If you remember last December Oliver said he would drop the VIOLENCE album after he got home from tour and still has not done so, but to be fair we got a good handful of soundcloud singles/uploads which hasn't happened since 2018, we got b sides for pond scum, a whole album with a new but nostalgic sound from Oliver, he was rapping his ass off on it too. He then teased around May that his next album was coming together nice and said it sounded like "revenge pt 2" which I think the snippet for the merch video is from and that one of chryse smiling, nothing 100% though since that album he teased is unreleased still, don't know if it'll ever drop either. Let's hope we finally get the long awaited VIOLENCE album and even the part 2 album he teased sometime 2024.
With the help of the oliver archive server, Oliver himself, his manager Sofi and probably other's I don't know about, the 2016 album/mixtape "things aren't that simple" was able to be released onto streaming platforms for the first time and physically on vinyls. Hopfully we can get more of his old discography the same treatment in 2024.
LOCKED SHUT was birthed. Oliver's new band consisting of all the same members of Violence Lab's with the exception of Nick/Nico, they now have Dylan who worked with Oliver in his 2010-2014 band Treebeard and his 2015 side project Glory Days. They've released a demo ep and one single. the last 4 or 5 clips in this compilation are unreleased songs they've teased in vlogs, IG story's and at their first ever live show a month or so back. Through their instagram page theyve teased in captions that there's an LP(album) being worked on, really curious to see how that ends up sounding, whether it's more hardcore or more melodic like that one snippet towards the middle of this comp. Super excited to see what they're working on behind the scenes and evolve into.
On the archive server side, we reached 1,000 members a few months ago, lots of new people joined this year thanks to new fans dicovering Oliver's music, old fans getting back into him and already established fans finding out about the server for the first time. About 6 or 7 months ago me and a small group of guys in the server managed to dig up abunch of old never heard before songs from 2016 and 2017 era, songs that didn't make it on the final versions of albums like things aren't that simple, burnout, bape music and chlorine. I've stated this many times publicly before but for those who don't know, these songs weren't stolen they were found and could've been found by anyone, they could've been found years ago actually they've always been available we just didn't know they existed but as time goes on the internet evolves and new things are discovered thus allowing us to find these songs. We decided since they're so old and to prevent people from using them for personal gain/profit it'd be best to share them with everyone, so every month we've been dropping 2 songs going backwards in time, until we have none left. As this video goes up we just dropped the last song we had from the bape music era "jet ski freestyle 2". We have a few burnout songs and then we'll finish it up with the things aren't that simple songs and that'll be it for a long time probably.
We still actively look and search for old deleted songs, it's a lot harder ofcourse since we've exhausted a lot of leads and sources, but there's always hope for something despite being told by Oliver that we've found everything or we should stop looking lol.. when something is found its a great feeling being able to make it available for everyone once again.
Finally a thank you for everyone that actually reads these descriptions and makes it this far without getting bored lmao. I wish you all an amazing 2024 and let's hope for some great drops this year on all things Oliver related. Looking forward to doing this all over again next year as always. Happy New Year :)

Another good year for oli despite it being on the short side of releases (not regarding the archive releases) I enjoyed the description of this year as I do every year and I look forward for this new year with the possible pt 2 album and Locked Shut's LP.
Yea, was short on releases but if you think about the 7 month span from when Hijinks dropped in 2022 all the to April of 2023. He gave us 2 albums, an ep with b sides. Multiple singles, Multiple merch drops, Multiple vinyls and got tats onto streaming after years of fans asking for it.
While the rest of the rest of the year would've been cool to see him stay consistent, I understand burnout and his focus shifting towards things he's having fun with which is LOCKED SHUT

great year to be an oli fan
May have been a little on the weaker side with snippets and drops with the 2nd half of the year but we tried to make up for it with all the Chlorine and bape music leaks
@@Ceeee honestly i got more of that mature oli sound i was craving from olivers revenge i want another project like that don't get me wrong chlorine era and the albums around it are golden and an amazing moment in time but i love oli most when hes just rapping hard
@@damienfarron yea Oliver rapped his ass off on revenge. Flows were insane and mf was rhyming like never before. I'd imagine he had a lot of fun recording it, cuz he fr did that shit lol

Fr. I hope they're still gonna have that more post hardcore sound. It seems like everything they're doing is hardcore. We'll have to see with the album they have coming out sometime this year, really hope we get this song and anything else that sounds like it more melodic stuff. Don't get me wrong thr hardcore stuff is sick tho

@tikaij I'm like 99% sure suffocating won't ever come out. It's possible he could just say fuck it and drop it but suffocating is a Violence Lab's song. Which was his 2022 band, LOCKED SHUT wasn't until mid 2023. Its possible they could just release the song under the new band but if it never comes out that's probably why

@tikaij yea it's unfortunate but honestly it's Oliver, he owns his music, he can release however, under whatever name he wants. He just doesn't have a good history of dropping things he previews sadly lol
