Thank you Joy. Ancient art is indeed a fascinating subject. If you are interested in early cave art, I suggest you watch Part One of my video about How to Make Color Charts, here: . At the end of that video, through an amazing window in time and space, you'll see prehistoric cave art being painted by a cave man, who endures severe criticism from a cave woman (the world's first art critic) who doesn't appreciate his work very much. Near the end of Part Two, the Girl With A Pearl Earring mysteriously materializes from the past to answer questions about Vermeer, and at the end of Part Three a dinosaur appears on the scene and eats up a modern artist, doing a good turn for art lovers everywhere.
Thank you so much sir for this treasure. You are awesome. Your art is awesome. I would like to add to the discussion of photograph vs painting, that saying we don't need realisting painting because we have phtograph is like saying we don't need fast atheletes because we have automobiles. Equating science i.e. photography with art i.e. painting is equating oranges and apples, not fair. Painting is not a matter of need, it's a matter of expression, artist's expression, situation's expression...
I could listen to your knowledge all day . I too love ancient history and art.
