Synopsis: Gongsun Li, a beautiful commoner, has been studying Kung Fu from her grandfather alongside two senior apprentices ever since she was a little girl. During her youth, she saves a boy named Ying Zheng, who later becomes the King of Qin. Her world is turned upside down when war breaks out amongst the warring states and her grandfather is killed by the Qin army. As a result, Gongsun Li is forced to flee her hometown. Her longtime senior, Jing Kie, is then poisoned for attempting to protect her. In order to obtain the cure for Jing Ke, Gongsun Li chooses to marry the king, Ying Zheng, who is responsible for invading her nation and murdering her grandfather. Soon after, Gongsun Li discovers that she is pregnant with Jing Kie’s child. When Ying Zheng’s discovers Gongsun Li’s pregnancy, he comes to her aid by claiming that he is the father of the child, which deeply moves Gongsun Li. In order to ensure the safety of Gongsun Li and her child, Han Shen, Gongsun Li’s other senior, chooses to become an imperial bodyguard in the palace. Faced with the dangers and perils of life in the palace, Gongsun Li develops into a strong woman and eventually earns people’s respect through her wisdom and kindness.

Star Buck, well, I have watched some Chinese Martial Arts 🥋, and surprisingly, chopsticks does kill. The kind of chopsticks used must be the metal kind and have its tip easily sharpened and laced with poison to kill. But, in this case, she could easily go to the most vulnerable part, his neck. As martial arts trained, she must know where to strike even just using the chopstick or in this case, the hairpin.
I have a few hair pins. I'm pretty sure if I used enough force I could stab someone with them as they're hard metal and Lady Li is trained in combat so I'm sure she'd find a way :)

2019 I started watching cdrama after being a 10 year plus kdrama fan. Saw the clips of this cdrama but I preferred watching the excellent cdrama, Ashes of Love first.
Then, over the years I watched most of the top artists cdramas except the leads of this cdrama.
This cdrama is too heavy for a newbie cdrama fan but is top quality. Besides both leads guaranteed their excellent acting reputation. So no more big expectation except with the writer's and director's works which are all excellent.
Hate to admit that I am a new fan of Vin Zhang. 😂😅 He is overbearing handsome and excellent in acting. He can even sing like the top celebrity singers. Why? Weishenme? 😂🎉
Dilraba is his male version with her own unique excellence in acting. Glad I enjoyed the other cdramas before this cdrama. 😂

After watching ten miles of peach blossom, eternal love of dream, pretty li huizhen, flame's daughter and the king's woman.... i'm torn between vengo gao and bin bin. Vengo is manly and sexy. Bin bin's eyes however is very expressive.. esp. When he smiles... he is just gorgeous.. good thing am already married.. i dont need to choose between the two.. lol☺☺
Vengo had the advantage of maturity which adds to the aura of manliness and sexiness..... depth of acting and face value, I go for Binbin.... he's 23 going 24 when they shoot this, so he still got remnant if baby face hahha
