I've been watching ppl react to this band for 6 years and it never gets old. Ever. I dunno if you've realized it yet, but you're witnessing real greatness. I'm 53 years old, I've been listening to metal for 40 of those years and Jinjer is one of a kind legendary. This is a once in a lifetime band. And it only gets better the more you dive into it. As for Tatiana, if you think you love her now (and you do, like the rest of us), watch an interview of hers. She's a fucking sweetheart on top of being a beast vocalist.
I mean you'll never hear another band like Jinjer. Other bands have some of the same elements. None have all that. I've seen Jinjer live twice--and I hope I get to see them 36 times, like I did Rush. They're that damn good!
Jinjer - Pit of Consciousness (Live in Kiev) Jinjer - On The Top (Live in Kiev) Jinjer - Who Is Gonna Be The One (Official Live) Jinjer - Judgement & Punishment (Tatiana One Take Vocal) Jinjer - Teacher Teacher (Official Video) Jinjer - Captain Clock (Live at Resurrection Fest 2018) Jinjer - Cloud Factory (Official Video)
2:09 - The "see you next time" can be understood in two ways: 1- As the theme of the song, the perennial plants that "die" in Winter and come back in Spring (they don't actually die, they're just enjoying coma 😉) 2- As hoping to be at Wacken again the following year, on a bigger stage and as a more established band in the Metal scene (this was their first time at the festival). The problem was that the following year was 2020...
Roman is usually playing in either drop A or drop C from what I understand. The technique she's using doesn't use the vocal chords but instead uses mostly false chords so as long as she does it correctly it won't harm her voice. The false chords sit above the actual vocal chords and extend over the vocal chords when you swallow to help keep food from going down the wrong way. Singers who learn this technique learn to control those otherwise involuntary muscles to make sound. Anyone can do it but learning the technique is extremely difficult. You can think you are using the false chords when you are actually using the actual vocal chords and harm your voice. She's been doing it now for about 15 years. They've actually toured with Slipnot. Tatiana has been through a lot and is a very strong person. She is married to the drummer for POD (formally drummer for Suicide Silence).
Just a clarification: Roman changed from drop C to drop A before the "King of Everything" album and everything they've recorded since has been in drop A. There was a period of overlap where they were playing older songs in drop C but I'm fairly sure (?!) that they haven't used drop C live for a few years now.
if you did a Jinjer reacct a week, you'd have 3-4 months of content and you wouldn't hear anything but this quality or better and never the same kind of song twice.
