They deserved to hear the criticism. Being the top trainees means higher expectations and at this point in the show, you gotta start fighting harder but not memorizing the lyrics is really critical.
But the people who are scolded here still have better live vocals than Moka and Iroha who can't even sing 2 words It's a shame they're being called idols
Fans need to realize that criticisms like this is every important for their idols to grow. They don't need to be "babied" at all times, because when they debut, they will hear more cruel words esp. these days that the internet is literally everywhere. If they don't have strong foundation or mentality to handle such things, they won't be able to survive the real world. Jo-Kwon, out of all the judges, is my favorite. He gives great feedback when he sees improvement but at the same time, uses his sharp tongue to advise trainees.
Exactly, without constructive critism, they won't be able to get better and better. Learning never stops and hearing only good things won't let you see your full potential. If you think the way the judges judged were unfair then that means you only want to hear what you want to hear. These judges actually take their time to focus on every detail and mentor these trainees, they didn't hate on them just for fun. They wouldn't want those trainees to debut just to get bashed by netizens, they want the trainees to be able to show their fans that they do deserved their spots.
Yes! It's just very ridicilous that some fans cannot accept that their favs. are being scolded like they're already perfect idols. These mentors know best the performance especially what needs to be improved.

The thing is, this song is a staple for the heart of Kpop. And it's not like they're doing a hard choreo and they're all Korean so memorising lyrics should be easier for then. So it's bit disappointing to have trainees , supposed to be at the top to be slacking. Because if you're one of the bests, you should always be wary and practice hard.
Literally what happened now to Illit 💀 They should have practiced in the pre-debut. Vocally speaking, expert Minjae Jung was very disappointed. They have a long way to go until they are vocally pleasant. The most basics is to sing your recorded parts and if you can't do that you're not a professional rookie. That's an area Illit needs to improve according to him. No member really stands out to him in the debut. Wonhee stands out to him when it came to expressive ability. She had the shortest time of training which impressed him. Overall the grade is quite low for him because they lacked basics in this debut. He hopes to see improvements for the comeback and show him their professional side by taking their job serious. I can't agree with him more. If they had the basics they wouldn't get bashed by netizens in the first place. We can blame this on Bang PD and Belift who didn't take vocal lessons to their hearts. Hybe has been controversial when it comes to provide heavy vocal training for their girl groups. MHJ put effort into that with NewJeans so they never got the same shitty treatment as Lesserafim and Illit. So their vocals turned out decent, not great or good, just average decent. Fromis_9 was signed to Off The Record so they were provided vocal training before they joined Pledis. GFriend was trained by Source Music when they were small and not a label to Hybe. Imagine getting 2-3 lines and they all are high notes but your charm is not in “high note”, it must be so burden that ppl can’t see you much bc you are always behind and barely get to be in the middle and you don’t have lines to shine.. poor hyewon, if they gave her the part she wished for, she would deffo would do better bc she had the potential for it.
2:50 You’ve never been this criticized in her life? She never had an Asian parent yelling at her to do better at math? Never had her parent yell at her? Never had a teacher being strict? Makes sense why she’s a baby.
Look honestly after seeing some controversy about these shows idk what to believe. Some of the PD’S make contestants act a sort of way for views. Its always for views.
This here is exactly why there's the saying, ' Only YG artists can sing YG songs. ' I cringed all throughout watching this even when I didn't want or expect to then again, ROOM TO GROW and GET BETTER. The only artists I know to be very reliable with singing live vocals at every show are all 2nd gen, early 3rd gen or bands. The few 4th gen artists I can think of to atleast make an actual effort to sing with live vocals are all soloists, with most of them being ex-group members. These days fans don't care about actual music or artistry. All you need is a pretty face and some dance. True, visuals have been important through all of the generations, but the emphasis on good looks has only peaked. nah I still think knowing/memorising someone else's verses of a song you learnt two days ago is CRAZYDHD like idc sure in the long run but two days???????? when ur trying to memorise ur own lines and new choreo is crazy
Tbh I think that’s what idols have to do incase a member falls I’ll or can’t perform you will have to re learn a new choreo and learn the lines of the person missing within a day sometimes
But is it really? This is essentially their job/major. Students memorize 200 pages of pdfs in two days or write 5 essays in two days. This is the same thing, just a different kind of memorising in terms of dancing. But memorising one song is really nothing if you think about it.
@butterfliesonmymind705 Totally agree with you there. It's what is expected of them. If they can't do that simple task, then I don't know what else can they do when they debut.
Memorising song lyrics is incredibly easy. A normal person should be able to do it at the same level as these trainees. If you are having that much difficulty with that to think of it as crazy, then I recommend you should get checked out, cause there are illnesses that can cause that. - Have performed in singing, coming from a "musical" family with a professional violinist parent taught in the traditional way. Lyrics, music, classical and traditional performances are very familiar to me.
I’m new to Kpop and trainees and all that but after watching Korean tv shows and dramas I just wanted to ask if it’s common for everyone to have Botox? Or as a culture are they relatively expressionless facial wise compared to Western and African countries when people speak. Especially the forehead / eyes areas. I know it’s not all of them of course but I definitely notice. (I’m South African btw)

I think hyewon was in the most critical and difficult position tbh.

You’ve never been this criticized in her life? She never had an Asian parent yelling at her to do better at math? Never had her parent yell at her? Never had a teacher being strict? Makes sense why she’s a baby.
youngseo visual is insane
Look honestly after seeing some controversy about these shows idk what to believe. Some of the PD’S make contestants act a sort of way for views. Its always for views.
Yassss jokwon mothering
They are a mess. 😂
Guri jo kwon ❤
im glad they prove after those criticism. The before performance was so bad.
I was a Hyewon bias and this stage was what made me the most upset. Hope she gets the chance to debut in the future
These are more likely staged for “screen time,” though.
They need yg criticism for them to be good 😂
I know it's late but Minju was a yg trainee.
In he is really strict
ugh my blackjack heart. How dare you butcher that song 🤣
Edit: I was commenting as I watched. They definitely redeemed themselves at the end there!
This here is exactly why there's the saying, ' Only YG artists can sing YG songs. ' I cringed all throughout watching this even when I didn't want or expect to then again, ROOM TO GROW and GET BETTER. OMG...never thought I'd see the day when 2nd Generation Kpop Artists grow up so fast and evolve into judges. They were just kids when I met them. Saranghae, 2nd Gen!
one girl there is literally an ex-yg, but ok.
@@JeanYouLuckyBoishe didnt debut in yg for a reason
please grow up 🙏🏽
They're on a television show, i doubt they aren't all trying their hardest so maybe there is another reason besides "laziness". Were they not given enough time to practice
None of them (except Minju) debuted in ILLIT tho they were top trainees...
Evil edit made its business?
well youngseo was going to debut with them but left
I though u said “why jo-kwon ugly” hahahah
their face expressions are good judges dont see wonhee...
If you can't support don't try to take them down
@@BlackpinkJenniekim-tw6zc its just a fact they are judges they have to be equal to everyone they shouldnt have a bias
@@cansnbkey I know but wonhee haters are really too much they so toxic to just a 16 years old girl.
And there no prove judge bias over wonhee.
In every photos or videos about ru next
The topic is whatever wonhee hater always put wonhee in.
If someone made videos about chanelle, minju, himena, iroha etc haters always compared and say about bad things to wonhee
wonhee is not others wonhee is wonhee don't always compared with others
judges r more worried about singing quite literally bc theyre SINGERS ofc stage prescence is important but like they can improve over time (ex: aespa)
Toxic af get help
It sounds prerecorded.
Min -joo sound like rośe ❤
nah that one moustache judge needs to know how to give critics properly.. he's laughing like that makes people pumped up i swear
Hindi pa nila nakikilala si Papa YG 😅
Hye-won part omg why so sort 😂
🇩🇿🇰🇷👀👌🏼Their voices are wonderful frankly and they tire a lot with the dance
Most active idols have pre-recorded their vocals (there is only a few idols currently sing and dance at the same time) -
@@RoyLimisAw3s0meSince when did they started doing that?? During pandemic??
Kara jo kwon ❤
@@andredaniel6658 most of the idols; depending on how hard the chorography of the dance
@@andredaniel6658 A bit before the pandemic is when the preference of visuals and dance over live vocals began taking over and was officially cemented into practice with 4th gen.
Been an active listener and participant in the Korean music industry since like 2011 or so, which is 2nd gen. Everything has only gone downhill.
gurl already practiced to using MR 😅
Jo Kwon is mother to me
in the end, the green team perform beautifully, but the judge still thinks that the performance is not that good. lol
I think hybe don't focus on their trainees. They only focus on debut 4 to 5 groups in one years that's why their trainers lack skill
Wah...baru tahu acara audisi pakai suara rekaman..😅😅
Minjoo gives me hanni vibes
If SHE became mentor...Maybe its make this show more interesting...she not just giving advice and critism but giving the example how to do it properly
Ik this would be deserved to realise ur mistakes, but if I was one of them I would burst out crying and tear up in like 3 seconds damn that was harsh-
Seems like they forgot to take criticism to their hearts and get better. Now they got bashed from their first encore by netizens and now it's a witch hunt on Illit 😢
nah I still think knowing/memorising someone else's verses of a song you learnt two days ago is CRAZYDHD like idc sure in the long run but two days???????? when ur trying to memorise ur own lines and new choreo is crazy
But you need to understand it's a part of their job
dont they autotune the performances ?
I’m new to Kpop and trainees and all that but after watching Korean tv shows and dramas I just wanted to ask if it’s common for everyone to have Botox? Or as a culture are they relatively expressionless facial wise compared to Western and African countries when people speak. Especially the forehead / eyes areas.
I know it’s not all of them of course but I definitely notice. (I’m South African btw)
It's maybe not botox but some people talk without expression in general
Listen let me tell you Gen Z don’t care 😂😂 I can see the judges are trying soo hard to scare them because that’s how their training days were, but the generation of today they aren’t phased 😂😂
Wonhee giving side eye being the worst there 😧
well no
She’s actually one of the better singers like I was shocked. Stage presence is another story but she isn’t untalented.
She was a better singer than all of the IDC team except Minju, def not "the worst there"
Jo kwon is the only good judge on this show tbh
Nope. They all are good in their own. They just cut out some comment they made
pls help where can i watch ep 8
