    Thank you, haven't played for a while and all the new mechanics are quite confusing coming back after so long. I've just watched you owl guide as well and was able to clean up in a 2 v 2 v 2 with my team mate being bear clan, who I think are weak atm, but it felt v fun to play owl with them. Now I feel like I could have a chance with lion. Much appreciated - from a devout raven/snake clan player branching out. 😂

    Hi Larsman, thanks for the guide! For FFA what would you say is the best lategame army for Lion? I was thinking a few Fantassasin with Rearguard upgrade, the the main units would be Champions with Hauberk upgrade and after cost per unit gets higher then the Faith to convert paladins instead just fill up the army with paladins as last group. Would that be as optimal as I imagine it to be or am I overthinking and should I just spam Champion only?

    • @larsmanlive
      @larsmanlive  27 дней назад

      Hey Cova thank you for your wonderful comment!
      Best lategame for Lion is going for full Hauberk Champs with 1 Holy Fire Paladin and tons of champion camp upgrades.
      Reason being that the more upgrades you have for a specific unit, the stronger it becomes.
      Champions melt literally anything in seconds.
      If you happen to be up against a Lynx or Stoat, you can also mix in a couple of archers to make tile-dancing more difficult.

    thanks for the guide lars, you are the ng GOAT haha, question for you:
    How do you go about mining your stone, if your stone and food are on the same tile, i trialled this and it delayed my stone very late due to starving?

    • @larsmanlive
      @larsmanlive  5 месяцев назад

      Save food in summer and mine the stone in winter.
      If you have fish, try to find another food source.

  • @TazzSmk
    @TazzSmk 5 месяцев назад

    great guide, do you plan revisiting other clans after those latest patches? :)
    most important tip is to use INFO on the tiles, especially for beginners to see exactly how's livability going on,
    southern clans really depend on starting tile layout, if really good then upgraded tavern on main tile boosting livability on all other tiles is OP,
    also in your play I'd probably build woodcutter on right bottom tile for quicker unit swap between mine and wood,
    and also there's a thin balance between getting iron vs getting stone (because upgrading everything for more livability gives bigger convert pop later)

    • @larsmanlive
      @larsmanlive  5 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks a lot!
      I like your ideas and I see that you put a lot of thought into this.
      I actually tried woodcutter near stone mine the first run I played this spawn and I ultimately valued mining while working woodcutters over placing both in the same tile and changed my building distribution.
      However, you can definitely make a case for your approach!
      Tavern on main is a possibility, but I feel like that is not needed most of the time.
      Again, that's only my personal opinion and I know some good Lion players who do exactly that. Hostelry on main. :)
      Lion's so flexible man, I wonder how we can optimize this clan even more.

    Could you please explain a bit more about the [Legions] Military Path?
    I'm new to the game and I don't quite understand why it should be taken over [Guardian], or if there is some weakness or bonus I'm not aware of yet o.o
    Thanks for the video guide, carry on man!

    • @larsmanlive
      @larsmanlive  4 месяца назад +3

      Guardian is a useless military path for Lion as it doesn't even have towers, but forts and forts don't contribute that much for defense.
      Additionaly, your win condition with Lion is domination by killing enemies and having the strongest warband in the game.
      With legions you can
      1.) Build more camps (50 mil. exp)
      2.) Convert more (500 mil exp.)
      3.) Have the strongest military in the game at 1500 mil exp.
      I'd argue that it's one of the most "natural" war paths in the game together with...
      Ox Legions
      Stoat Guardian.
      Feel free to ask away if you have any further questions!

      Are there any situations where I should choose Fantassins or Archers over Champions?

    • @larsmanlive
      @larsmanlive  4 месяца назад

      @@herrdave920 Ah don't mention it, I am happy to help :)

    Really appreciate the guide, it's helped me a lot. However, I really struggle to get that 8 livability food tile in the first year. I feel like I'm consistently behind by a few months. I simply don't understand how you can amass the krowns needed for all the upgrades and developments without starting next to a ruin. Is this a requirement? Because honestly I seem not to start next to a ruin in most of my matches, if there is even one nearby...

    Question regarding Lion kingdom and military path - Legion. How does the third tier talent (double bonus from upgraded military buildings) interact with Lion? As far as i am aware upgrading military camp does not provide any bonuses, unlike in north clans where they provide flat % bonuses, it just allows you to recruit certain type of unit and expand your band?

    • @larsmanlive

      Tavern on food is the easiest way for you to get 8 livabilty there ASAP. Also, you won't lack food even with a taverner working there.
      Since there will be taverns on other tiles later, you can just work your taverners there.

      Champions are stronger than normal military as they can strike two nearby units in a single blow. Coupled with Hauberk (deflect) they are unfair to play against with normal warrior Northgard clans.
      As far as I know, they also gain attack speed for upgraded camps.

      Lion gets a 5% attack bonus to associated units for each military camp in a zone with prosperity.
      With "Steelwork" each military building with a Smithy provides + 5% defense to the associated units as well.
