When I was 6 (1967), my mom and I sailed on her from Durban in South Africa to Cape Town. To this day I have the fondest memories of that trip. I'm 60 now but will never forget this beauty of the season. Even with the modern facilities of today this old Mail ship held her own. Much sadness when we heard she was to be "killed"

Went from Southampton to East London on the Pendennis in 1971 for something like 20 quid. Wouldn’t change anything. Loved it.
Such a beautiful ship. Worked on her 1973 deck department. Great time. When ships looked like ships.
I sailed to South Africa as a young girl on this ship. Had the time of my life!

Eu adoro ceu canal
I'm dead shure the liners of this day will never match her personality humility and her character to this beautiful ship
Pardon me Sir I get pretty emotional over the Castle Line ships

Caraca bota divertido nesse navio hein
A chaminé desse navio me lembra um pouco as Torres daqueles super submarinos russos.
Terrible boring music! I did see her get launched and saw her many times at sea. Thank you.
