Brilliant Julie, what a result! I can fully appreciate with us seeing your personality on camera that being around more people would have made it more fun for you. Those conditions looked rough! Thanks for sharing the content.
Ace video Julie. I heard some reports.....but you video shows just how grim it was. Such a shame for the whole event..... I'm sure that in the sunshine that area would be absolutely ace to ride. Well done in your 2nd place 💪
Chapeau Julie. The North Wales weather never makes it easy. Congratulations on finishing 2nd in your cat. Finishing in those conditions is always a win.
Julie you are ******** unbelievable... Sorry but good god , you really are an inspiration. Well done I hope all the women watching this and the men that feel we're too old take stock of how awesome you are 😂 well done 👌🏻.
Great video and congrats on getting round and getting 2nd. It was very grim and you managed to capture it true to the day. I remember seeing you on course and you were going very well
@@JuliePhelanExplore I couldn’t maintain my group’s pace so decided to just ride my own race. At that point my legs had blown and the weather turned. On the day, it wasn’t enjoyment but after I dried off and had some sleep, I looked back at it as fun. How about you?
@Mwandiambira same . By Wednesday I pictured myself riding in the mud, wind and rain through 'rose coloured spectacles ' lol ! As a result I have now entered the Gralloch lol !
@@timgearing5121 absolutely . I had to get ride at all costs. The hardest part was when I got back to the van. Martin had to sort both me and the bike out because I was soooooo cold once I stopped.
Well done Julie. I was so tempted to call it a day after the first lap, but there were no issues with me or the bike other than not feeling it. Pushed on got really wet, really cold, and really muddy. I also crashed towards the end. Silly mistake putting sunglasses into pocket as they were covered in mud. The front wheel just touched the grass off the tarmac, and down I went. It probably happened because I was cold and not concentrating enough. Nothing serious and nothing broken on the bike. Have you considered the Gralloch? We did it this year and have just booked for 2025. Fantastic route.
@@Ecoroof1986 it was undoubtedly difficult to remain focused . Well done to you for finishing . It was mind games eh? Great to see you both. See ya at the Gralloch!
Hey Julie, ur certainly one tough cookie! I bet they gave everyone else a 24 hour head start before they let you loose. Those guys you passed, were in next weeks race!😂 Bet u really went round 5 times as well!😂 It's nice that these events are run, and with some constructive feedback, in time they will hopefully improve and become more competitive. Rome wasn'tbuilt in a day!. Can't do anything about the weather in this country, just a typical summer's day!😅 Great post, as usual Julie, and so exceptionally edited!😉 Take care, the both of you!😊

@@creativechimp03 thanks. The conditions made it difficult to focus on lap two. That was an issue. I need a strategy for future events.
Thank you for your support
Blimey, well done fir sticking it out and completing, bet it's a great ride in better conditions ❤
Well done Julie, brilliant effort especially in those conditions. Great mental toughness to keep going on your own!

@Mwandiambira somethings are a personal challenge eh? Particularly when the weather is that awful. I was shocked by the number of DNF s
