I'm a single man recently divorced after being married for many years. I'm relatively new to the area ( San Rafael) and I just discovered going into the SF city and exploring and hiking. I'm not sure I'm meant for the forever relationship wise but I'll say that I'm most likely looking for a long term relationship. My only issue is that I've done a lot of things that single people are looking for already ( like having kids and buying a house etc) so I'm not sure if those are things I'll ever do again with someone. That's probably why I feel like I might alienate lots of potential partners and therefore remain open to being close friends or something like that as long as we were exclusively together. I'm not really interested in being with multiple partners but rather I'm not sure if I have much of what women are looking for. Anyhow, My question is how many people in their 30 /40 are interested in relationships for the sole purpose of loving and being loved. Enjoying spending time together and having a close connection rather than looking for a partner to build a family with. Like I think most women are looking for a marriage type partner to build a family and must meet all those criteria before dating seriously. The idea of love is more flexible here in liberal San Francisco so I wonder if you might find better luck just disclosing what you want upfront. At least on hinge, you're able to disclose what kind of relationship you want; that helps with any confusion and will attract the right person who wants the same thing -- rooting for you. also, maybe no need to rush into things? you're just recently divorced so you can explore life for now and see where chips may fall
