I just read about the City States in the Companion book and they are another faction that I have never seen anywhere else in Fantasy. Greek Philosophy and Mythology mixed with Steampunk and a little bit of Bioshock. Awesome that you cover them Doug :)
After what they did with the Old Dominion I'm looking forward to seeing the City State range. Para Bellum has really hit their stride designing new factions and while the greek theme isn't really my thing I have no doubt that they will do a great job with it. Can't wait to see what they do with Sorcerer Kings where we see what Constantius' unnamed companion was up to
Great work on the video! The idea of clockwork spartans tickled my fantasy loving brain. I also find it coincedentally funny that two of my now favorite faction (nords and the city states) are paired together with the starter sets.
Would you be willing to do an episode on the orders of the 100 Kingdoms? Specifically the Crimson Tower. I found them recently and I think they are SUPER cool. I’m a sucker for a dark gray/black and red color scheme too, so there is that 😅
Loving your Conquest content. Will there be more models for City-states outside of what's in the army builder? Even if you count the unreleased stuff, it seems smaller than others.
I find it fitting for the City-States to be sort of the philosophy of understanding divinity, because Hellenism in Greece was more about seeing the gods and the forces of the universe in realistic terms rather than defining who is ultimately good or evil in a sense of morality. Not all the things gods do is just and can be put to scrutiny by mortals and other gods more powerful than them.
This illustrates why no omnipotent god would provide definite scientific proof of its existence. We would be all over trying to harness that shit at once.
As a Vanguard I welcome the year of Conquest lol...I just hope we still get AOS stuff mixed in too. I know your focus is on the HH podcast and the newer stuff is awesome, but man I miss the AOS lore weeks. That little critique aside...LOVE L..O..V..E the channel man! Keep up the amazing work!!
