Yeah she is contagious with her enthusiasm. Has wit, is and smart. I was just thinking on how do Sloths live. Still don't see how they are not killed by predators or hunted by things like Jaguars.
Came over from JonTron slander 60 Minutes. To paraphrase a documentary, "The people behind 60 minutes are bafoons and sloths. Because you did 0 research."
"is this biological wokeness"? Asked the reporter from a woke corporation "Well it would be if it wasn't true". said the woman who has a functional brain
Poor sloths. I feel so sorry for these sweet little creatures. It breaks my heart to see what is happening to them. I hope that the public changes their opinion of these innocent little animals.
Nah. Devoid of the crutches of civilisation and technology humans are pretty active by default. During the ice age when food was at its most scarce humans were ranging around all year long just to keep fed.
Amazing video! Not only informative but entertaining; Lucy has an enviable passion for these creatures and others. So very thankful this dedication exists in this world 🙏🏾🔆
I am 67. When I was 5 my grandpa gave me his precious taxidermied Three Toad 🦥 sloth. I shared it every year throughout Elementary School. Still have it.
Just gave my new nephew in law a stuffed sloth with a red hoodie that says sloth mode. The family thought I shouldn't give to him but it was the only gift I gave him that he took home, left the rest🤣
I love love LOVE the look on Teddy's face after he realizes it was just Lucy making that noise. "DAMMIT LADY! Do you REALIZE how many leaves I'm gonna need to eat to replace the energy I just burned?!?"
Thank you so much for this information on sloths and climate change. I love sloths and almost every other animal, so it is disturbing to hear their predicament, but perhaps, as people realize what we’re doing to the other life on earth, they will work harder to fight climate change.
We need more people like Lucy and more people to donate to these causes. Sloths and Koalas are, in my opinion, the most beautiful creatures God has ever created.
Either the Sloth having been around so long, proof it is okay to be one, or else I feel for them, iconic in the dregs of our adjectives. With the urRu, Mystics of the Dark Chrystal, will I associate them instead.
@60minutes Suggestion for improvement: It would have been nice, if you had also shown the dark-skinned man, including his face, who helped climb barefoot to get the sloths from the ant-infested trees. I think it's a sign of respect to show all the helpers involved and at least briefly interview them. :-) Positive Feedback: Very interesting and informative documation. Thank you very much for your work.
I was troubled by your use of the word “explorers” to describe conquistadors. It literally means “conquerors” and their legacy is not one of exploration but of genocide.
Thank you, JonTron for raising awareness of the Sloth slander that’s apparently been going on for years. I will not stand for this.
Can’t think of a better way to start the year than to watch a real sloth hugging a sloth stuffed animal omg that was amazing ❤
Seeing a sloth in the wild was one of my most memorable experiences while visiting Costa Rica.
@@SusanKay-Don't be jealous. Go visit! It is worth whatever sacrifice you have to make.
@@LR-mh8hsin the wild, so lucky hahaha
This sloth segment surely “adds to the richness of the universe”! Love seeing nature-themed episodes on 60 Minutes.
I scrolled right over your comment as she said it.
Always good to see someone passionate about wildlife like she is. Great piece.
Yeah she is contagious with her enthusiasm. Has wit, is and smart.
I was just thinking on how do Sloths live. Still don't see how they are not killed by predators or hunted by things like Jaguars.
They do get preyed upon
The sloth 🦥 smiling face is a treat for the eyes, sweet little species. Thanks to this dedicated group of people.
There used to be giant 20 foot tall sloths, imagine how cute and terrifying they were.
That's one way to avoid avian predation!
@RepentandbelieveinJesusChrist. dude chill - not the time or place for proselytizing
Apparently they tasted good but were indeed dangerous to hunt from historic reports
@@pele914 they also dug massive caves that are still around today
It’s because they are high on tree bark that goes absorbed into they nails just like a human being high 24/7 on mushrooms
Sloths are wonderful 🦥
I won't stand for this sloth slander.
You mean you won't hang around just to listen to trash talk
Wonderful creatures 😍
Lovely story with a proper lesson at the end. Convenience is incredibly bad for all of us.
60M Years? They've been existing!! I feel humbled as a human being.
i love sloths, there is just something about them. probably the smile :-).
Wonderful animals and passionate researchers. Great reporting.
they are so cute hugging that stuffed sloth
reported for bullying sloths
Sharyn is a riot! The sloths are adorable.
Sloths are not B-listers, put some respect on Sid's descendants
(Yes, i just came from the JT video, no I will not elaborate)

I love her passion for wildlife and her sense of humor! What an extraordinary woman!
Slow and awesome. The Ultimate Couch 🛋️ Potato 🥔. My kind of people.
I think sloths are pretty hard working little fellas. I think they move slow to make themselves harder to spot. They're stealthy rather than lazy.
Poor sloths. I feel so sorry for these sweet little creatures. It breaks my heart to see what is happening to them. I hope that the public changes their opinion of these innocent little animals.
Stop bullying sloths
we moved to Panama from the U.S. a year and a half ago. We've yet to see sloths, but so happy they are here,
You can see them on Isla Colon in Bocas del Toro.
you can also go to the Parque Natural Metropolitano, just saw one on the wild today.
After watching this, I'm pretty sure that I have a significant amount of sloth DNA in my system.
I KNOW my son does😂😂😂😂

Oh that is so cool
I put them in the cute category. Beautiful creature and to be appreciated. Life is not all about the hustle and bustle. Slow down and enjoy life.
Such an amazing animal, with so much to teach us.
How dare you make a hit piece on these beautiful creatures
I ❤ soths
Merry Christmas everyone ⛄
She got that right. We are extremely obsessed with speed.
I guess that's why I'm obsessed with the Dodo. If they ever come back into existence, I’d love to see them in person.
It’s almost like the “regular media” has a conspiracy against these lovable guys…..😢
Why you hating on the sloth ?
“The richness of the universe” ❤
I love them. Thank you for this!
Great info from a great video. Lucy is a great woman The world is a better place with her in it. Sincere thanks. A great 2024.🎉
They're not B list, they're not even S list; they deserve their own god tier ABOVE S!
What a great story. Thank you!
1:10 “poisonous snakes”? Don’t you mean VENOMOUS? You would think a news source with an animal expert at their disposal wouldn’t get things so wrong..
They take life at their own pace...❤❤❤
Just gave my new nephew in law a stuffed sloth with a red hoodie that says sloth mode. The family thought I shouldn't give to him but it was the only gift I gave him that he took home, left the rest🤣
It’s impressive how docile and tolerant of handling these sloths are. Most animals would hiss aggressively or try desperately to get away
I love love LOVE the look on Teddy's face after he realizes it was just Lucy making that noise. "DAMMIT LADY! Do you REALIZE how many leaves I'm gonna need to eat to replace the energy I just burned?!?"
Sloths are the cutest and coolest animals!!💕❤️🥰

Calm down, already. It's just a theory. Not established science.
Excellent video ❤ thank you so much for sharing 🙏
JonTron did a thing.
Who doesn't love Sloths?❤
Love these precious sweet little one's
I love costa rica. It is my favorite country by far. The wild life is out of this world. It is like living in a zoo.
I've have my days at work I tell my coworkers 'I'm in sloth' mode. Think they are my spirit animal. 😂
I ❤ Sloths 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I loved this! Thank you. ❤
What a wonderful creature. I can’t get enough of them and trying to help them.
Interview with a sloth? "Sloth what do you have to say for yourself?"
My spirit animal is a sloth.

And her post Darwin ideas are intriguing, look forward to her book! 👍
1:29 I can watch her be that excited over and over again :-)
Adorable ❤
I don't know why I got so upset about the sloths being harmed by the power lines. It's so depressing how us humans find a way to harm everyone else

01:10 Poisonous snakes? Were you eating them?
out of all the things you could have made a hitpiece on, you choose sloths?
Great show great guest keep it up sir they are listening thanks
be nice to the sloths!
Sloth with backpack makes me happy
JonTron brought me here
Thanks for this lesson.
Snakes aren’t poisonous - they’re venomous. Poison is something you ‘ingest’ (drink), venom is something you ‘inject’ (snake bite). Duh…

Love those critters
Hard hitting news we needed
Keep your eyes out for venomous snakes on the ground. Not poisonous ones. 🙄
Venomous= don't let it bite you.
Poisonous= don't bite it.

Really interesting 👍
Does anyone know the name of the sanctuaries mentioned in the piece?
