Outside of the perfect bid in 2008 that was marred with controversy, this is the closest a contestant has been to perfection! A contestant missed by $2 in 1980!
Remember a guy had a $0 exact bid and Drew wasn't excited at all because he feared the man cheated in some way. But this $39500 bid... I think the reason why he was so excited is because people 99% of the time will even/round out their bid.
I don’t think some people realize how insane this is. The odds of that are so low. I thought he was over by just a dollar but when he was off by a dollar and was a double showcase winner, I was absolutely mind blown!
@@GamingDelight I can excuse them this time because double comment for double showcase and allcaps to express the enormity of the occasion in the show's history. It was an intentional style choice.
@@linsqopiring6816 I can never excuse that irritant's constant double-commenting/replying to their own comments, no matter what the situation. This has to stop!
Yup, especially as a Canadian. You gotta cough up 37% in taxes up front for as little as $1500 in winnings, plus they only ship the items to US addresses, so they have to have the stuff shipped to a US customs office, where more duties must be paid, and THEN you're responsible for getting the stuff home yourself from there.

Holy smokes! First time ever during Drew’s era somebody won a double showcase with a difference of only $1!
or any era
This was such a wholesome news article. Love the gang at CBS Chicago
And he’s from Edmonton, Canada. 💪🥳🇨🇦
Someone from there's gotta win at *something* right?
You almost had a Perfect showcase round on the price is right ▶️ sir.
Congrats to that winner happy for him

He said the same thing, and Drew contributed to that temporary confusion by saying "you were OFF by a dollar!" Sounds like bad news lol.
0:57 LOL What's happening here?
That was overwhelming! If Bob was still here, he’d be hysterical about his almost flawless bid!
TREMENDOUS! PEOPLE will be talking about that for years...
Still mind blown that this happened!
That pretty blue dress is very flattering. Well done news lady. 👍

Stop with the all-caps and stop replying to yourself! It's grating!

@@GamingDelight It sounds like you're saying they have a history of this that you're aware of.
How about a 5 million dollar challenge if a contestant can guess exactly correct on a showcase. No cheating now
Have fun paying the taxes.

And after the taxes he’ll have a bunch of great prizes for far less than their retail value. Don’t be a pessimist.
@@JL-sm6cg Woa, I didn't know all that. Poor guy will probably be in debt from it lol.
I'm so excited for them! I worked with Patrice's wife many years ago. 😁
There was actually a contestant who got the exact bid
by cheating.
@@linsqopiring6816 There was no cheating involved. That's like saying Michael Larson cheated at Press Your Luck.
@@chronokeep Larson didn't arrange for help from an audience member.
@@linsqopiring6816 the audience members are allowed to help in TPIR.
and he is CANADIAN!!!! WE smart lol
@0:30 that girl screamed like she was getting murdered! 😂😂
Imagine if he had been a dollar over instead of a dollar under! I wonder if they would have given him some consolation prize.
Yes i saw where he was off by $1 and i was totally amazed and how about the person that got the piggy bank for $64k last night!
I would have to sell everything to avoid paying the taxes for that stuff lol
Corgst
Not as good as the documentary of the guy perfect bid 2008
🎉😅😊
Wowee!
I wonder how much taxes he has to pay in california? 😱
Too much lol
It is amazing that more people live in California than all of Canada.
The perfect bid guy's skill was kind of cheating. Well, there's lots of use for that these days I guess.
What's next, a perfect game of Plinko from another contestant? No offense, people.
The odds of THAT are one in a million.
I don't remember that happening, if ever.
