    You are 100% right, it's terrible to charge anything in $s in Ghana. We have our own currency, so why should anyone charge in $s? The government must put an end to it. It shouldn't applies to anyone whether you are a foreigner or local.

    Same as Marhaba in Arab countries, like dubai what you see when you get in Duabi Airport , you see Marhaba meaning welcome

    Look like twins, we were discouraged from speaking pidgin when I was growing up because it corrupted proper English grammar back in the day. Pidgin was mostly spoken by uneducated people, but now everyone is trying to speak pidgin. I think the dollar thing is because they need to keep their exchange rate static so that they don’t loose out when the currency fluctuates. It applies to everyone even though the government does not permit. If you take bribe in the airport you can be sacked if caught. The person asking for dollars had no reason to. I am in UK and if I had been asked I would make noise and embarrass the person. If there is going to be a power cut they announce it on the radio. It is usually to service some parts of the country or town.

    The issue of paying in dollars is only some places in Accra and does not represent the entire country.

    • @papa22631
      @papa22631 2 года назад

      @Big Fun - It shouldn't happen any where in Ghana. We have our own currency.

    Even though, some people may quote prices in dollars, it doesn't mean you got to pay in dollars. You can still pay in cedis and it will be accepted.

    Twi is not a general language in Ghana ok
    There are a lot of ethnic groups in Ghana that don't understand and don't speak twi
    It's just a common language because the Akans that's the tribes that speaks twi are more than the other tribes that's why the language has been common and easy to understand
