We can't just hate cute things. No one can argue that Luffy is just so cute. He's like a puppy. You can get irritated or angry at a puppy but you can't hate them. Aside from that what I admired about Luffy is the fact that he isn't trying to be something he's not, he always believes in himself and is confident that he can achieve his dreams but that doesn't mean he is overestimating himself like he is aware of his flaws, he knows he isn't the smartest , the fastest or the strongest and he is okay with that. He is just someone who loves pushing his limit. When he decides to do something, he does it resolutely.

I never cared much for Luffy.. My favourites were other characters and I always found him too annoying to tolerate. However, over time I have felt something change... Something I did not expect for a character I never cared for and it's all because of who Luffy is.
He is the man who will become the Pirate King!

God, even in our world his power to make aliates works!
I used to find him annoying too but he grew on me and that happened after Ace's death. It gave him a bit more depth, especially the flashback of the three brothers. He's still kinda annoying at time but also cute and badass when it's required.
It was the same for me. I used to get annoyed and now I love him to bits.

I started watching it on TV as a kid and I didn't really cared much for him because, well he was the main character and for some reason I always connected the main character with the show in itself and wasn't paying much attention to them? But as I grew up, he litteraly became my favourite (even if Sanji and Usopp still have a special place in my heart)
