I saw this game being played at Dice Tower Con, but never got a chance to take a close look at it. Thanks for the instructional video, Rodney. I think this one is a pass for us.
I didn't think the viking theme would interest me, but after watching the video it definitely looks like a fun game my wife and son would also enjoy. The 3D ships look great. Thanks Rodney!
I played this at Dice Tower Con last year and had a great time. My buddy picked it up as soon as it was released. I bought a copy shortly afterwards too. Now that I've watched it played I realize that we were playing it wrong. We had the viking who controlled the boat take all the tokens on board. Should be interesting to see how it plays now.
This looks similar to Dominion or Settlers of Catan in that I'd bet experienced players will CRUSH new players! For a game about Vikings, that seems like a nice touch :)
Thanks for the video Rodney. I'm looking forward to trying this one. I am in to the Vikings theme and this feels a bit like Mission: Red Planet which I like too. Did you say you were going to Essen in October? Will be great to see you there.
Another "break ties X ways, and if still equal oh well" games. Maybe an idea for a houserule to not remove ships, and break ties with the person who controls most ships? (Counting first control only, then second control, etc.) edit: by 'not remove' I mean leave on the board but off the mooring, so their shape stays intact.
Brandan Parsons Yes I was. And while I certainly see the educational purpose behind shared victories, having multiple tie-breakers and then STILL have tied be possible feels like a bad approach (in my humble opinion!) If you want shared victories to be a part of your game, don't include any tie breakers at all. Score tied? Share victory. edit: Of course, that suggestion can also be used as a house rule. ;) Things I learned as a D&D DM: Rulebooks are 80% rules, 20% gameplay guidelines.
ByloBand Within my group it's never about who wins. But for some reason shared victories feel cheaper than having a clear winner? Might just be us, hence the suggestion for house rules. Not saying the base rules are bad, they just don't line up with our particular playstyle.
To set sail with a ship, you must choose a ship with at least 1 supply token already on its bow and at least one body piece in its body, when possible. However, if there are no legal options, then you may choose whichever ship you wish.
Hey Que, sorry I can't help much there. I avoid sharing opinions on the games, as each player will have their own ideas about what they are looking for, even when it comes to player counts.
You are the best!!!!!!!!! :)
Greetings from Puerto Rico!!!
Thanks Kipel. Greetings back from Canada!
Wow - The components looked impressive but I didn't think the game was going to be that deep! This looks like a really fun game!
Thanks for checking it our Joseph.
It's a fun game.
Picked this one up recently and now I'm all set to play. Thanks!
Hope you have fun playing!
Top notch film Rodney!Love the artwork for the shields.
Thank you sir :)

Happy to share!
50 internet points for nailing those designer names!
I practiced :)

You're very welcome, I'm glad you checked out the video Shane.

That would make a difference - hope you enjoy the change :)
Another terrific video.
If we send you a cake, would you consider doing a video for "Twilight Struggle"? Please... ??? 😊
It's one I would like to cover actually. If I can just find the time - so many games!

Thanks for checking out the video Bylo - sounds like you have the Viking spirit :)

No plans to attend at this time. The travel costs would be a bit too steep for the channel at this point.
+Watch It Played that's too bad. I'll definitely try to be at Origins next year, so maybe see you there!
"This was a a great explanation. I got this game for Christmas and I'm really excited to play it" - my 9 year old
So glad you're 9 year old liked the video and the game - I hope they have a great time playing :)

+Tyrope Games Since shared victories are a known outcome going in, I suggest you try harder to win to avoid it.

+Tyrope Games That's YOUR problem then.
I ended up doing a chat series on this topic, as it does seem to divide gamers sometimes! ruclips.net/video/Go_ZzkYnTt8/видео.html
Sounds like a very cool game!
Where can I buy it? I can't seem to find it on Amazon......
It should be releasing at Gen Con, and in retail stores around that time.
hey Rodney. Will you be attending gen con this year, because I'm going and would be really honored to meet you
I will be there - by all means, if you see me, feel free to say hi. Hope you have a great time, either way!
+Watch It Played thanks
...and if there's still a tie the person who has most recently watched "Vikings" on History Channel wins.
There you go :)
can we leave a ship without any piecies (boat pieces)

I'm not sure. In a store or online, unless it's currently sold out.
How dose this play with 2 players?
