This laptop is on my radar but I was hesitant about going from the metal keyboard deck on my 2016 MSI to the plastic here but from what I've seen the build quality is very good.

the only thing that disappoint me from this Scar 15/17 2022 models is they removed the opto-mechanical keyboard, and somehow the Scar 2021 keyboard has brighten led backlight than this 2022 edition. I don't know, but for me that (the opto-mech keyboard) is the nice feature for differentiate with strix G edition. I'm using 2021 model and I really like the keyboard feel and layout. Also if you don't want hear the clicky sound (like when use it in the library for example), just add keyboard protector into it, and it can be silent feel, I already try it. But overall, I really like this 2022 models since they add a lot of cool features like type-C thunderbolt 4, mux switch, hdmi 2.1 port direct to the dGPU (not like hdmi 2.0b port in 2021 model), and also better screen panel option. Anyway, great review from you, subbed!

Thanks. I don't talk about the web cam on laptops because they are all bad to me except for the new MacBook pros. But the ROG EYE S will pair very nicely with the scar. Logitech makes some good ones as well. There's also apps where you can use your phone as a web cam too
It is possible to boost the GPU to 150w with the manual mode right? because the Turbo profile is not good, the GPU gets above 80C. btw on Turbo the fans wont go more than about 75% wich is not really good. if you push the fans to 95% you can get much cooler temperatures.
Try posting on Reddit? But try going to the asus support page for the scar and see if you can download armoury crate there if you haven’t tried that already
Oh that sucks. Usually once enough people post on twitter, Reddit, and call asus tech support, it gets escalated and they provide a fix. I’ve had tons of small issues with using Rog laptops when an update happens or something then they have to fix it
Always hated the scar shitty port positioning ... my mouse and mouse pad (both razer) require USB ports 😠 😡! Can't wait for Asus to announce the real deal everyone waits zeohyrus S17 2022!

Hey, i have the same model, put it on a cooling pad and external monitor. Im satisfied with temperature, but only in custom mode "armory crate". I heard a lot about undervolting and bios tweaking to make temps lower, but most of the videos, sourses cant really explain how it works, pros and cons. Maybe you can make a video about it?
Hey. Congrats on the scar. I typically would mess around with overclocking and undervolting on my personal laptop. But I won't for review purposes since it's down to the silicon lottery. . But look up some RUclips videos on how to use overclocking with afterburner and undervolting with throttlestop. I could make a video but there's enough content on that already that I don't know if I can add any value.

The only 3070 ti laptop I have now is the M16 with a lower TGP. I ordered an X17 with a 3070 ti that'll arrive early next week. I want to test exactly that. How much are you losing out. There are some valid reasons to go with a 3080 ti though, for video work, higher VRAM and not being worried about if you're getting the best performance or not
Hey mate, I have the same laptop (Scar 15 with the 3080 Ti), and my vBIOS got bricked while flashing the higher wattage GE76 vbios. Can you please share the vBIOS dump here? It would be really helpful in recovering my vBIOS, I searched the entire internet and can't find the vBIOS anywhere.

I only have less than a month of experience under my belt...I literally just learned how to use the camera and Adobe Premiere Pro in that time. The 3080 being more future proof over the 3070ti but then I realized that the 3080 is the 8gb version not the 16gb version that's installed in these asus laptops. I can't find much comparison of the 8gb vs 16gb 3080 cards but double the ram would have been nice! I guess I'm leaning toward the 3070ti now w/17in screen.
either way you go would work. Just make sure it's a 2022 model so you get the mux switch and the new intel processor. Those 2 features will help future proof your purchase a bit more.
That's not a scar logo, that's an ROG logo. Scar doesn't have a logo. It's just a tier of laptop. A sub category within the sub line up Rog. ROG is a gaming line from the company Asus. And within ROG they have a handful of gaming tiers/lines.
that's not an easy one to answer. If you value build quality, the GE76 is meal mostly compared to all plastic on the Scar. Performance is a bit higher on the GE too. It depends on what's more important to you
@@tyler8606 Micro Center stores have it in stock. I had to contact my cousin in NY where there is one of these stores and had them buy it and ship it back to me in FL. It's the only way to get it now. Check if there is a Micro Center near you or someone you know.

Yeah. The scar 15 outperforms the razer blade 17. But it’s not enough to really make a noticeable difference. If you want the razer, go for it. So far my favorite is the scar this year
PLEASE READ.. For the speaker test did you turn on Dolby Atmos and set to Dynamic? For better you can use that's ;) And for honestly I got same laptop but last year modal. I give tip for better temp. Just make the back of laptop a little bit up. I can garrenty the temp will become a lot better because I'm using same modal and trust me. Sorry if My Engliah is bad haha
Laptop at flat give the very bad temp for the laptop. I have already test. I use 2x highlight put at back side laptop to give a little bit up and the temp become much much better compared to only at flat condition. Maybe you can try it ;)
The speaker test I used the default dolby setting. Just like most gaming laptops it seems like you get better performance when you lift it up lol. Not very practical

That’s a pretty decent price just translating it to USD. I think it’s a good laptop. The legion might be better in some regards with a brigher screen but less color volume and you may prefer 16:10 at 16 inches at 16:9 at 15.6 inches. Also the legion will have a better build since the scar is plastic but that doesn’t bother me. Also if it’s the legion 7 you will get better cpu performance if it uses one of the new hx chips. Its a tough choice between the two of them but if you wanted something now, the scar 15 is awesome

Yeah it’s probably the same display in the tuf a15 or the duo from last year. It’s a really good 1080p panel. Bright and great contrast and typically little to no backlight bleed.
$3299. USD. Here in the states I saw Amazon selling the 3070 ti model with a 300hz panel and 16gb of RAM for $1999 and still with the core i9 12900h. Pretty reasonable price. Hope it it's in stock in Europe soon

yeah. It doesn't bother me at all. The plastic allows them to do the slightly see through deck which looks really nice.

The GPU does go up to 150 watts in turbo mode which is nice. I agree you can get better temps in manual mode if you play with the fan curve.
Someone please help!! I reset Scar 15 (2022) but I'm not able to use the Amoury Crate, it seems like a general Asus problem.

Hi have this model. I have a doubt, Laptop was on standby (no significat process running)
When opened after 5-6 hours, Laptop was hot,89 C

Should be ok. The laptop cpu has a thermal limit of 99. But try not to have the laptop closed while on. It needs to be open for max airflow

I personally do. It does make a difference. But at 15 inches 1080p still looks good. The QHD also has a higher color volume than the 1080p panel

I wonder if it is just me but isn't this laptop really ugly? I understand they had to make it bulky to support the 150 watt TGP.
