the underground scene is what actually got me into rap as a genre. ive always been more interested in rock and a bit of 90s hip hop here and there like wu tang or tupac. still kinda am that way. but back in 2016 i started listening to xxxtentacion, thought he reminded me of some metal bands like slipknot or system of a down if they did their thing on a three six mafia style beat. then i learned about suicideboys. they reminded me of korn, which is a band that my dad and i really like. all these newer wave rappers reminded me more of nu metal and punk rock than rap. this new stuff though, i gotta be honest with you, even though its not as good as 2016-2018, i do think its pretty fucking dope. ive probably listened to more sofaygo than anything else these past couple years.

I found out about Autumn around January of 2021 when he remixed Cartis songs then found about yeat not too later after that and then I learned about so much more underground rappers and sub genres and I never looked back since. Edit: Also feel like you should’ve mentioned Ken Carson since he also started gaining a lot more traction in 2021 as well
