Thanks for the great information! You make it all sound very simple and it’s less intimidating that way. I myself am still in high school and am thinking of joining up for a medical career in the US military. Do you have any advice? Because what I’m getting so far is that you went to medical school first and to military afterwards, right?
Hey there! Thank you! I would definitely recommend that you first think about commissioning as an officer and doing college through an ROTC program! Free college! You can choose Medical Doctor, Physician Assistant, Nurse, Dentist etc. I am a medic, so I joined the military before medical school! I start medical school next year! I recommend doing medical school first! Let me know if you have any other questions!
Yes absolutely! I am very interested in pursuing either nursing or becoming a physician assistant! Both a great career fields and I have been able to work with both in AF and learn more! It’s been pretty insightful!
@@JakeEatsCake I have Jake! I think MD/DO is also a great career path as well! Just a very long road! I think PA is the best balance of respect, income, and career flexibility!
Great question. If you join the Guard or Reserves you will pick your job in advance. If you do active duty, sometimes you can pick your job in advance if there is availability or a need for certain jobs to be filled. Ask your recruiter and they can explain what is available.
Hey! Yes you should find a recruiter to take the ASVAB unless you are taking it through your high school! I do recommend getting an ASVAB study guide and taking some practice tests before you take the official ASVAB!
It depends on what they are trying to fill. Usually you can’t get a guarantee of what job you will get unless you are doing the Guard or Reserves where they are trying to fill a specific slot at a specific base. BUT ask your recruiter because you CAN get a specific job in your contract occasionally. Especially if the active duty side is short on the job rating you want and they are trying to fill those slots. So I clarified with my recruiter what guarantees were available and they had exactly what I wanted to I agreed. I had to wait longer to ship out but it was worth it to get the job I wanted.
A lot of youtubers say that the Coast Guard has the 2nd hardest boot camp and the highest attrition rate (in boot camp.)
I have definitely heard that too!
Great video
Thank you!
Thank you so much
I’m glad it was helpful! 🙏🏽

@@caseygrayson2275 Appreciate it. I’m confident in all the categories, besides Word knowledge.
How did you get the guaranteed aerospace medical tech job? was it just available and you happen to been given it?
