Bro paved the way for ‘smaller guys’ to become the lead man, saved the company, ushered in the Attitude Era, was part of the most influential/notorious ’kliq’ of all time, fought in (and won) the most new match types, gave the most ‘match of the year performances’, raised h*ll, took part in the single most controversial match of all time, had the most iconic PPV entrance of all time, created the most recreated insult to ever be used in schools across the world, and eventually found God (while still helping run the company).

@@normanred9212 Strange that, those 4 descriptions you typed, "bigot/racist/nationalist/nazifascist" have a common denominator, they all stem from the same mind weakness. Even when I'm looking back at this particular Shawn Michaels and his segments, he's not exercising any of those descriptions and yet, you have a need to link him to them and with a proudful tone underneath your claim. The stupidest part of your comment resides in that, you claim every person that is being described today under those adjectives, are actually a mistake made by those who label them as such, like if you KNEW EXACTLY how each person thinks and what motivations lie within their actions and words; also implying in a way that, there are no more racists, nationalist nor nazifascist around,... short answer from a short mind.
Shawn Michaels never needed in his entire life to align himself to one side or the other, because he was his own man.
You want to use Shawn as a validation for your personal inadequacies and maybe even trying to dilute the meaning and importance of those words, so that people don't judge you harshly for whatever you think and do; "we are here, we are doing it" you typed, sounds like an inept person trying to convey fortitude through his own usage of edginess, like if that's a talent or some of the kind. Shawn Michaels was a talented man, you, from your own words, doesn't seem like it.
Very early in my life, I noticed this tendency, in my own country, men without character trying to put forth a face of "toughness" by taking pride over aggravating someone outside their circle of comfort. Some women too, they loved to aggravate a man just for the fun.

HBK however starts toadying up to Vince McMahon and becomes more corporate, filling the role Dude Love had as Vince's proxy. They continue the feud that goes until Summerslam (the Undertaker feud Austin has that dominates a lot of 98 maybe goes on the backburner). @@coloradomallcrawlers I was also "there" for the beginning of the Attitude era, before, during, and after the Attitude era...DX was a significant part of what defined the mood of the era but they didn't start anything, most of the ideas for the Attitude era came from angles and characters from ECW, and the Jerry Springer/Howard Stern pop culture from that time, and the most significant defining storyline was Austin vs McMahon not anything that DX did
And going back to the point of the OG claim made, Shawn didn't save the WWF and he didn't start the Attitude era, if any one person did, it would be Austin from late 1996 to early 1997 when Shawn was still confused about what direction his character should go to after his failed babyface run in 1996 as a headliner

he helped yes but he really didn't blow up until 98. from 96 to late 98 the wwe was running off taker and shawn. austin was just starting to get over. I lived it I watched it Austin wasn't selling out buildings until after shawn retired putting austin over at mania officially starting the austin era. shawn was the one who started the attitude era and the one who talked Vince into allowing them to do it. you can find it on youtube it's the promo shawn cut on nothing but bicycle shorts with socks stuffed in the front and he kept jumping up in jrs face doing the crotch chop which got him fined. they weren't doing anything like that before which allowed austin to do alot of the stuff he was allowed to do. without dx pushing vince to pet them be more edgy and creative austin never gets the ok to do what he did. had taker and shawn left austin would have never gotten to where he did because wwe would have folded. go back at look at the main events of the ppvs it was taker or shawn headlinging every ppv. they were why people bought ppvs. sure Austin ended up carrying wwe after but those guys paved the way.
