Xu Xin in 2019-2020 had 3 euro players challenging him: Franziska, Pitchford ( who beat him) and Gauzy (who won and almost did it again in Qatar). But he is still my favourite and a beast !

Actually, the point system used to be : first to 21 wins the round. Which gives both players plenty of time to prove their worth/make a comeback. However... the international committee changed this rule because... well because Chinese players used to dominate the court by going ham in the second half of each round. So this was changed to 11. But honestly, kinda ruined the fun.
Eventhough I'm fan of Xuxin, Patrick deserved to win this match. He played better and was mentally stronger. Xuxin was a little bit whiny, not his best performance, I've seen him play better.
How cqn franziska deserve to win when he literally lost fair and square. There was not cheating involved. Franziska has become one of fav now but to say he deserved over xu xin is overstatement. Xu xin adapted after the 5th set, that is why he is xuperman
