- This is the fourth course in the Google Cybersecurity Certificate. In this course, you will explore computing skills that you’ll use on the job as a cybersecurity analyst. First, you'll practice using Linux, an operating system commonly used by cybersecurity professionals. For example, you'll use the Linux command line through the Bash shell to navigate and manage the file system and authenticate users. Then, you'll use SQL to communicate with a database.

Finally!! a video designed to explain to a complete noob. Its been a bit of a minefield trying to find tbh.
Video #4 of Google Cybersecurity Certificate - THANK YOU 💐
great lesson. I'm impressed by the simplicity of your teaching. I need help installing MySQL and sample database to practice the lessons taught. thanks.
Trist was Great! Perfect for me
Great job - speaker is a beast 💪🏾
Thank you its very detailed nd understandable I would like to see it again for much understanding

please help, Sir iam a BCA Cybersecurity final year student, last two years of my collage i learned nothing even the basics ,my cgpa is very low ,what should i do now, should i focus on certificates from learning basics to up,or should i focus on collage getting some marks
i have seen your videos and understand the importance of skills and the certificates which help us to achieve the skills, but iam asking this question because here while hiring everyone is asking about degree and cgpa also,in my collage itself 80%marks is required for attending interviews
I wonder which version of Linux is being used here. Most of the online practice terminals I've found do not use many of these commands such as 'man', and another I've found (JS/UIX terminal at masswerk) that does use them, uses 'apropos' in place of 'whatis', and has no 'whatis' command.
Fyi I've since Googled it and found out that a Linux virtual machine is actually quite easy to install/run in Windows 10, and Ubuntu appears to have all the commands mentioned in this video. And the setup is free.
WOW !!! GRACIAS
It's getting harder.
Pls where can I get the Editor used in this section?
Hope i will get decent job with this, Also my career and knowledge keep improving to live around
With much gratitude Google
From where have you run the SQL commands. Is it the terminal or something else. Begineer asking.
you can use SQL workbench or SQL command line
Can I run this sql command on the Linux terminal? Thank you.
Thank you
No problem!
@@GoogleCareerCertificateswhy are you not providing other language in this course.?
No actual mention of the Parrot distro, correct? I may have missed it.
Great, video! But how can we implement all of the Linux command while following the teaching for those of us that are using windows computer 💻?
Hi, search about virtual machine and how to use Linux inside of Windows.
Windows 10 and 11 have WLS a linux vm
Bash has been replaced by zsh in the latest Kali Linux version
I'm taking this course now and struggling on a lab in Course 4 Module 3 trying to get to company depts and employees....
I had a hard time with the same module too. Hang in there!!
@@MrLinights but you figured it out? am I using a slash when just a space is needed. Guess I'll try 2nd attempt today. But I'm behind in module 3. I think I am supposed to be done by Sunday. I hope they extend it for me. Thank you for the encouragement. Edison said " I didn't fail 10,000 with invented a light bulb; I found 10,000 ways a light bulb didn't work " . Wish I had that thinking . One fail and I panic... Thank you for your encouragement.
Thank you Google
Can I complete this course and apply for a job? I'm in Africa.
Good

I would've used the _ls_ command to confirm it's been copied successfully.
You mentioned _sudo_ for superuser but what about the command _su_ ?
_apropos_ looks like an uncanny, yet unique, Latin styled command that you did not define what it actually stands for or mean. For starters, let's just say it means *ap(p)rop* riate *s* ituation or *ap(p)rop* riate *o* peration *s* for now.

👀
su is pretty much the same thing as sudo
THANKS MY LORD
YOU ARE WELCOME MY SON

Very nice tone of voice alot easier to listen too than broken mumble dynamic weird low and high pitch people...I wish they would hear themselves and hear how weird and annoying they are.
Waiting For Next Part...
Why don't you just enroll on coursera and do the assessments there? More efficient than just sitting there waiting when you could accomplish a small goal.
@@alienboogieman money matters
@@fahimmollah2065 so? The ROI can be high if you apply yourself better and better each day. Unless you have experience in this field then simply get better at negotiating raises. Rather than wasting time learning something you already know. Plus, this certificate is not a guarantee that will help you get a job or a pay raise because in the end, the employer has authority over you.
@@fahimmollah2065 You can access the video content, readings and practice quizes for free, you just can't do graded assignments without paying.
@@geraldinebehancarroll1323 How can I get them?
I am currently studying cs50 course
And I always hear that cs50 is really good course
But today i knew why
Cs50 instructor is incomparable he put the concept in your head no matter what
And really put effort not just talking
I really think this course need a lot of practical work
Because there is a-lot of confusion
CS50 is undoubtedly a great course, but it's worth noting that Google's Cybersecurity course is also highly regarded in the industry. It's designed by experts with extensive knowledge in the field. Also, these videos come from google cybersec cert course on Coursera which has plenty of pratice modules on the topic. So yeah, if you want pratical work, you just have to do the excercice on the module... Perhaps this would help you with your confusion :-)
😂 🤣
This is a practical lecture, just follow what is being taught on your computer as you watch the video.
Please inform if anyone not good in maths or not from science background so can they persue cyber security as a career?
Of course you can!
@@giuliaferraro6077 thanks for the information 👍
You can absolutely enroll in the certificate, even if you don't have a math or science background! No experience or degree is required to get started, and you'll be guided throughout your learning, starting with the most foundational parts of the job and industry.
@@GoogleCareerCertificates ok thanks for the information 👍

The labs are done very poorly. If these is truly for those who have no experience You need to take the time to have these "Instructors" sit down, make a video of them actually doing the lab with you. You learn from obsevation NOT reading walls of text.
Exactly!!!! Am lost as hell!!!!!
You can use other videos on youtube as a cross reference to help you get a better understanding. Thats what i do.
this job can be for those who has no experience in this field who are fast learners not slow ones
Learning something for the first time is always daunting.
@@ferdinandlozada786exactly
please you're talking too fast.
i actually thought she was talking too slow and have the video on 1.5x speed, you can lower it if you’d like
these videos feel like the safety videos on the plane. I know this is important, but it's so boring...
