Seeing this snowy iced-over dlc Stage 1, first thing i was really emotionally hit by was not quite the biome, nor even the ice physics on the frozen river and pool. It was the ringed platforms around the trees.. For once in the entire game, i had encountered something that, in it's design, bore such eerie resemblance to the first game's platforming design. Layed platforms, closely placed above eachother, with single paths leading up and down from the higher levels, and across to each set of platforms. Walking around that area felt like i was treading a vaguely familiar path.. This teleporter music i now realise, bears such similarities to the teleporter music in one of the first stages in the first game: Hailstorm. Same build up, same moment of silence followed by the same surge of music and tension. While the main game brought nostalgia in the form of characters, a few enemies, and the music on the final stage on the moon, this DLC has brought more nostalgia in the form of Gup, and these new levels and music, ESPECIALLY this one. Very well done Chris and Hopoo. You brought the nostalgia back to even the first stage itself.
hailstorm was one of my personal favourites due to the sheer violence and panic it was putting across via music. you sir, have elevated those feelings to an absolute armstrong's limit *see what I did there*

Edgar Allan Poe was my favorite romanticist, which wasn't so much about directly being lovey dovey, it was moreso about the personal feelings and emotions. The name of this track fits sort of in a more literal sense, because as a boss theme, *having fallen, there was blood*. This is a weird thing to bring up and I hope it's not too off topic for the video itself.

In fact, I've noticed a shift in the maturity of the compositions of these Void tracks, like every element of them is so carefully and meticulously constructed and balanced, it's hard to ignore how absolutely masterfully this is mixed, not just composed. (not to insult any of your other mixing, I hold you in the highest regards, much love from Brooklyn!)
