I bought something similar in 2006... welcome to the 21st century ;-) and yeah the soldering iron is a direct knock-off of the Hakko 936 and all parts are interchangeable. The main unit is basically a Hakko 852 in a slightly more modern box. Hot air parts and tips for Hakko 850D and Hakko 852 are interchangeable with yours.
18:00 SOLDERING STAION :) Nice! I have a 2 in 1 hot air, iron that was wish/ali but it too takes hakko tips, which they also sold knock off hakko tips so I got some of them too. No complaints with mine so far. copper braid tip cleaning sponge changed my life though!
Epic Doc! That should help move the freepairs along. I have a digital station that is almost identical minus the really useful built in power unit. It's very nice!
Excellent! I'm needing a hot air station and power supply and a good pen style iron all in one would save a bit of mess on my bench. Gonna watch a few more reviews because I am tight on fund right now, but this definitely looks like a winner.
Being cheap I have a yihua 948-II which I mostly use for hot air and vac and a Yihua 853D I use the soldering iron on. Power supply ain't great but it does the job to give me another power rail and a USB for my magnifying lamp. I also have an oldschool Pace rig I got from my mentor that is a solder and vac for the really cranky stuff. No displays just a box with a couple variacs in it I keep wide open. It's sometimes nice to have a few different irons on at once when working with mixed boards. I also still have the old weller gun with a piece of 14ga copper for the tip to solder grounds on to chassis and stuff. My biggest complaint with the yihua is you got to switch between irons and vac. I just leave it on vac. The one you got there could easily replace the 853 and be better at it. I might consider it after seeing you use it for a while... and I will use freedom units on my irons.
Great review. Thanks for going over all the features but will keep WEP in mind since I already have 2 stations similar to this. However, I do like the Solder/De-Solder station and will likely purchase that. Thanks !!!
hi chris i got a WEP 4in1 recently , No PSU but has De-Soldering gun which i love also came with a pack of tips so a bit odd why yours didnt but other than that i love my 4in1 its built well and has the same soldering iron as yours.
Interesting station. The last time I did desoldering and soldering I was doing it 2 days with a brand new station and I looked like a hot dog. It burned tips! Since I was not satisfied I did a refund.
Well its about time! We all know you probably used one of those antique 1970's kits that kids got out of a comic book. :P :P :P Just kidding man. Good to see you got a new toy to play with
Missed sound effect opportunity with the "sticky on the bottom" comment.

Be interested as to how well the hot air works.
I've got this and actually really like using it.

Awesome bit of kit, I wouldn't mind investing in one myself!
You didn’t show the peel removal from the display. That’s the best part of any new toy!!

Great news dr. Chris. I really like the set. May it serve you well and I can't wait to see how it works as long as you fix something. greeting 😊

How very cool or should that be How hot is that?
That's hot.
Nice Unit, but 450 Degrees Hot Air ? At least you can Air-Fry some Chicken, after Finishing another Amiga ....
if you don't need the second iron and just want a desoldering gun on it's own id go for the ProsKit SS-331
I have a desolder and gun on its own. It’s a s993a. Clone of the hakko one
Great!!!!🤩👍🏻
Chris, do you ever use hot air on an Amiga board to remove chips? I always worry the board could crack from the heat.
Sometimes, but i reserve that for only pristine boards as i worry about layer seperation on old boards.
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration Good point. That and cracking would be my worries on these old and battery damaged boards.
What solder do you use and from where?
Either mg chemicals .025 sn63/pb37 or chipquik sn60/pb40. I get it from Amazon or microcenter it is about $30 a roll.
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration thank you sir.
I saw Chipquick leaded
