Bantay Kita Just Energy Transition - Transition Mineral Accountability Campaign Launch

The new age of mining under the energy transition poses significant risk of exacerbating climate inequities. The increased demand for transition minerals necessary for the production of green technologies has led to the fast-tracking of mineral licenses within climate-vulnerable, fragile, and corruption-prone states such as the Philippines. In partnership with legal organizations Norton Rose and the International Lawyers Project, 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗮 launched its 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 where we shared findings from our national level scoping study on the impacts of transition mineral mining for host communities.
