Larry, Naomi knew you loved her. I heard her say in one of her videos that she wouldn't know what to do without you, and she knows of no other man that would have been as kind and loving to her as you were. I guess most people after they stop and look back they would say, I should have done this, or I should have done that and maybe I shouldn't have done this. Actually it's no one's fault. You can only do so much to help them on their path no matter how much it hurts. I could see how much you loved and cared about her. I could see it in your eyes and heard it in your voice. I have never met Naomi, and believe me I would have loved to. She was one person you couldn't help but love. She had so much talent, she was highly intelligent, she was fun and had a great sense of humor. She was absolutely and totally beautiful She was very caring about everyone, and like me she loved all animals. She could have been my twin sister in another life. I loved her with all my heart and I always will. The day I heard she passed so unreal. It was like someone punched me in the stomach, and I couldn't get my breath. I've never met her, but I miss her and I mourn for her. It's kind of odd how we never met in this life, and I feel so close to her. It boggles my mind.
I'm at the point where I lost my whole family. I know how hard it is to spend Thanksgiving all alone, and have no one to talk to. It's extra hard because there's nothing I can do about it, but I was raised tough. There was never any hugs, or I love you from anyone in my whole family. So I guess all in all, I got to be like a stone wall. Anyway Larry you hang in there. I too wish I could talk to you sometime, and maybe help you.

Dear Larry, thank you for your honesty and speaking about your mental health as well as that of Naomi. Suicide always leaves the survivors feeling very guilty and wondering what they could have done to change things. Did you know that some depression is so deep and powerful that no measures can reach it or shift it? You gave Naomi the greatest gift which was loyalty, in sickness and in health. May you be well.

As hard as it is to suffer with depression, it can be just as difficult to be the caregiver and support person. You are not dealing with a healthy mind, and everything that might work for someone who is merely blue doesn't even begin to reach the depths of depression. It breaks my heart to hear him say, "I wish I was more compassionate." Short of the correct drug cocktail, there was nothing he could do. I'm glad to hear that Ashley is checking in on him, and I hope someone reassures him and affirms him in all of the care that he did give to his wife. Dealing with mental illness in a loved one is heart-wrenchingly difficult and draining. You are not responsible for, nor do you own any part of their choices. You gave your love, and that is everything!

They're thinking that they can no longer tolerate the immense pain they're in. It's not about the family members or anyone else. And it's selfish to think that someone doing something as drastic as killing themselves is about you or anyone else. Think about the amount of pain Naomi must have been in to want to do that.

As you said so eliquently, one minute your precious Naomi is fine and the next minute she is struggling with her inner demon's that wouldn't let her get off the couch. It's not that you didn't care or love her, sometimes they just need to be told what do because they aren't thinking clearly. At the same time people that are struggling can't handle being smothered either. All the year's that the two of you shared were special, and you were there helping her the way a husband should. Please let God help you and Ashley find the peace in your hearts, to heal. So glad that you have each other 🙏❤

It’s normal to miss our loved ones but I would not change a thing. I am so thankful for my full life. The highs and lows, the ability to feel, for all the experiences this is what real life is like. Larry,we push the people we love. It is out of love that we want the best for them. My daddy committed suicide in 2003. Gun shot to his head. He was 77 years old and very sick. He called me b4 he did it. He did that out of love because I was picking him up that morning to take him to dialysis. He knew I would walk in and find him. I have struggled with it for many years . No matter, what happens to our loved ones, when they pass we think of the things we could or should have done. :( Reality is there was nothing we could have done that would have changed the outcome. I am responding a second time, the first was to a different person's comment which you may not have seen.
I feel your pain. My twin brother David was murdered. I asked God why he let it happen?! Eventually I realized God didn't kill him But did take him to a better place. Some people told me to go to church, pray and so on. I was mad at God for awhile. I know my brother would want me to go on and I'm quite sure your dear son would want you to also. Try to remember the good. I am no longer in deep depression. I have this to say to others who suggest church, tbn, etc. I am better but it wasn't because of a church, a religion or some preacher. It is because of my personal relationship with God. Please know he knows your pain. In time it does get more tolerable. Take Care of YOU!!

In regards to Wynonna. That Thanksgiving, the same year Naomi died. Wynonna had Thanksgiving at her house. Larry was of course invited. What Wynonna did not plan on was Larry bringing his new girlfriend. Yes Larry had, might still have a girlfriend. Wynonna had to internally deal with this. She might not have liked it, but she allowed Larry to come to Thanksgiving dinner at her house with his new girlfriend. Remember, Naomi only passed a few months before. I am sure this was hard on Wy. There was a lot more going on than people know in the marriage of Naomi and Larry. Wynonna was no doubt privy to a lot.

Let’s reword that…I’ve got my two stepdaughter’s! Beautiful Ashley Judd & Beautiful Wynonna Judd & both are bright lights❤Naomi was NOT mentally ill! She was a victim of evil abusers, which deeply affected her for the rest of her life, which brought on inward Despondency dealing with it! Why can’t anybody see this? It’s the stupid depression drugs that cause suicide, warning labels tell you, and may be the very reason that she snapped at that moment from whatever she was taking! And from whatever was said to her prior to the act. Naomi was the most beautiful, intelligent talented woman, a child of the Most High GOD, and it’s just a tool of the devil to say that she was mentally ill. Absolutely not!!! Wynonna deserves the catalog of the music she made with her Mother!
    Come on Larry 😢

    the point she was ...
SERIOUSLY ~ Calling BS. She said in an interview LONG before her death - that she had SERIOUSLY considered jumping off a local bridge to end her life - but she knew the sheriff that would have to deal with the situation if she did that & she didn't want to inflict that on him.
And...since this is being put out into the public - why does he only mention Ashley ? Wynonna was her music partner for decades as well as her daughter ... What is she - chopped liver ? We all hurt differently, experience life differently & grieve differently. Wishing them all healing, compassion & peace.

Lock up the guns! “Suicide attempts are often impulsive acts, driven by transient life crises, most attempts are not fatal, and most people who attempt suicide do not go on to die in a future suicide. Whether a suicide attempt is fatal depends heavily on the lethality of the method used - and firearms are extremely lethal.”

I have a son with schizoaffective disorder and voices that he hears tells him to look for something to hurt/kill himself with and he has often given into the voices. His therapist has told us many times to lock up the knives and belts and things that can be harmful to him when he’s in bad headspace and yes family members have the moral obligation to protect them by making sure those things were locked up or taken away from them if they get a hold of one. I have so many questions about the day this woman died and if her traveling doctor came out to the house because it was an emergency why did they leave her alone with a loaded handgun and someone not force her into going to a psychiatric hospital where she needed to be to keep her safe?

Sounds like Wy is not considered part of his “light”. I saw in a recent video, that she was very upset that Larry had brought an uninvited “friend” to her home to celebrate Thanksgiving. Wy was not happy about it and no longer calls him Pop. She referred to him as “my mother’s husband” multiple times. Pretty ballsy move on Larry’s part IMO.

It's for families to lose someone but at some point people have to get a grip on that loss, and continue with living yourself. The time that takes isn't the same for everyone. It was stated a "friend", theres more than one kind of friend people can have, it doesn't have to be made dirty. Each one has to deal with their grief their own way.

Why were firearms still in the house? You can preach all you want to have care and seek help, but Naomi had a traveling dr at her side always, seen in the docuseries, so why not take the firearms away? This bothers my mindset more than anything.

I often wonder the same thing because when you have someone who suffers from mental illness you have to lock up the firearms and you can’t just hide them because they can be easily found and if someone is in the right mindset they will try to harm themselves. My son is schizoaffective and we’ve had to lock up kitchen knives as well as belts and other things that he might try to hurt himself with metal illness is very real just like cancer and diabetes are. The family had a moral obligation to protect their mother by making sure these things were locked up and kept away from her

In my opinion, as of 1/19/2023 after seeing the post-it note that claims was written by Noami 🤔 that she didn't want Wy at her funeral, she was mentally ill. Not buying this story with Noami's death. Larry just happened to be in Europe at the time. Ashley said in her interview after her Mom's death, she went to her Mom's house everyday and ate breakfast and loved spending time with Pops. Story of timeline is not adding up with the new story on radar on line. She told Robin Robert's they were waiting for a friend to stop by. Ashley went upstairs to tell her Mom friend was at the house. Noami was still alive when she shot herself. Now, Ashley was the only one at home the day Naomi killed herself 🤔 As per Ashley's claims she was screaming she wanted to die and kill herself. She asked Ashley to kill her. Ashley said, Momma you know, can't do that. Ashley claims she called her Mom's dr to come over immediately that's it emergency. Convenient Naomi shot herself on Ashley's clock. Dr arrived she she finally did it. Did Ashley snap and shot her Mom? None if this story is adding up. Hand written note looks nothing like Naomi hand writing. Ashley claims she put her self on top her Mom before paramedics arrived. Radar on line shows glock on the dresser in the photo with post it note on top dresser by the note. How does dying woman put a gun on the dresser. Larry's commits here are very haunting. Tell by his words Ashley is his favorite gal. Is Larry secretly in Love with Ashley. Wynonna and Ashley have had issues for years. Thinking Ashley wrote the note to further harm and destroy Wynonna. Larry's in control of the money. Maybe Ashley snapped and killed her Mom and staged the real cover-up!

    • @meredithvorrathan7671

Amen 🙏 you are thinking the same thing as I am thinking how could that gun have happened to end up on the dresser or nightstand it seems to me had Naomi had shot herself that she would have dropped the gun and it would’ve ended up on the bed with her upon discovery. Very odd that she didn’t have anyone to be a companion for her if she was in such a suicidal state. My son hears voices telling him to kill himself and no way would I leave him alone at this point in time. If that was her psychiatrist who came to the house why didn’t he take the gun and take her to a psychiatric hospital he was negligent and failed to do his job. I think there’s more to this story than we’ll ever know

Or maybe wanting to be snuggled by a dude with some common sense? Did he feel the need to go work at his (probably not very well paid) career, as a singer who was once a backup singer for Elvis back in the day? In Europe. While his wife is having a mental breakdown and just needs somebody to love her?

If he really cared he would offer both daughters a part of the money because Wynona is more than half the reason Naomi made that money, and deserves it. Yes he is grieving but so aren't the girls and grandchildren.
He also should be careful what froends he makes right now as he is grieving and yet inherited a great deal of money- some friends are only there for the money
