the block string itself isnt really an issue. as many characters have just as good strings and pressure. the issue is that it deals such massive amounts of guard break that it forces the opponent to guard cancel with no other option. This means that playing against her is more of a pure resource game than a real match (i main her) . If you have 100 meter you have a chance to live. But if you dont you literally just die. So if you use the gc to break out you are now left with nothing to win the next interaction and if she gets in one more time she wins. Again she isnt the only character that can make an interaction like that after gc but shes the only one that can do it with such easy setup. They need to reduce the guard damage her specials do and buff the gc mechanic. Then the problem is solved without affecting how she plays.
I wouldn't say "pure resource" since she has to pull off the whole string to guard break you off one hit, which is only going to happen if you've put yourself into exhaustion and THEN start blocking. If you can maintain at least 20 meter for the string you'll be able to safely guard cancel once you see a non-A button. After that it's up to you to prevent her from simply getting back in, and if the striker player is going for it they'll burn through so much meter that it will be hard for them to reset pressure without committing to a divekick or similar button.

Like literally play the game and you'll see that her pressure isn't even that crazy. the issue is that since the guardbreak is so high and cost so little for her it makes it feel like the pressure is worse than it really is. But swiftmaster in particular can apply worse pressure and get even better rewards from it since it can be done from half screen. berserker pressure is also safe from guard cancel which nobody talks about simply because its got harder execution and costs his life to perform.
crazy counter play idea. get hit on purpose at some random part of the string so she has to think of a combo from a stray hit. it'll hurt but it wont be as easy a ToD
do it if u suspect them of using simple macros. btw, I had a fighting game idea where while you're being juggled, you still can't fight back but have some control over your trajectory to make them drop you

Doesnt seem to be a true blockstring if the opponent is set to stand. Tried it on striker and the 2B never lands in block when the opponent is set to block only in the beginning. Works on crusader though as shown in the video
Yeah because it situational. You have to have low health to activate your awaken feat and have full meter. So you have to purposely lose and have your opponents in zero meter to pull off this block string guard break.
@@kieragard Maybe not this specifically since the mana cost was so high (but yes patch this please), but check rooflemongers video he does "guaranteed" guard breaks with striker with the starting 100 mana off any stray hit, no awakening. Its pretty wild. To put it another way, it means if you dont have the mana to guard cancel any of her hits becomes an unblockable that leads to a full combo, but this is worse since you also took white damage during the blockstring and got pushed to the corner too.

This is not as much of an issue as it seems.. noticed in his examples to TOD she has to be awaken, the opponent has to have used all of their mana and therefore not ready at some point to reversal. The second part is mitigate, because you get more mana capacity as you are hit.. so really if you misjudge and go into mana exhaustion trying to kill striker and it didn't work.. runaway quickly.. or you are Fed.. now in need to train my keep away game that girl is a baddd EX.

People that want her nerfed need to understand that she actually does need this and not the meme. If she didn’t have her kit like it is she would struggle a lot. I main Kuno/Striker. There are characters like Troubleshooter, Ranger, Kunoichi and Swift Master that and hit you with shit FULL STAGE. Then you have characters like Vanguard, Enchantress, Inquisitor and Crusader with absolutely insane range attacks. If she wasn’t this good she would genuinely struggle against pretty much the entire roster.
Stupid balance. Who thought it was a good idea to give her a block string that breaks guard, then give vanguard a guardbreak bonus (at low health) with a combo that pushes the opponent out of range ? This trash need a patch. She literally does what he does even better with an extra low life perk, and shes fast enough to clip him on startup out of all but 2 moves. 8l and 5l. Its so dumb.

Haha, maybe you can do this once per round. White life did too much dmg, maybe getting hit by 5m or jm before white dmg stack up would work.

Against crusader I found just doing it quickly made it connect. However, against the rest of the cast I’m still whiffing.
It is easy to whiff overall. Sometimes i just go straight with 2m than jm. Don't than start the gc string. Most of time you cam get it.

5s 2s js 5a might be easy to drop. But it is a true block string on every character no matter standing or crouching.
