I discovered this channel in Aug 2019 just about half month away from my papers... And i say it is probably the best short explanations of embryology where you understand thoroughly in just minutes....well done sir...salute

One of the few people who give a few hours on development on you tube. Most people give very short amount on embryology. Good overview in around 6 hours. Ninja Nerd is another good one. The person who did those lectures is being trained to be a PA which is a medical doctor's assistant (one step short of being a MD).

one thing i cant seem to understand, the epithelial cells of the yolk sacs project into the genital ridge and they wouldnt be called primary sex cords yet, right ? it has to proliferate and upon associating with the germ cells it forms cluster & thus forms the primary sex cords, am i correct ?

considering when the epithelial cells of the yolk sacs project into the genital ridges it forms finger-like bands that i assumed were called the primary sex cords

This was interesting... I'm not even studying for a test. Just very curious about how things develop...
I would love to be able to get a look at other notes that you mentioned. I'm interested in the hormones, proteins and biochemical processes at play throughought all of this.
I've been thinking about pursuing the growing field of tissue engineering, and I imagine knowing how things develop is very helpful in understanding how to make it develop in a lab, to offer treatment for those who are injured, or have dsd's, etc.
Imagine (ethical ramifications of gene editing A-side) if you could take a DNA sample, or the bone marrow of someone with swyer syndrome, offer Gene therapy for a cell line, create stem cells, and then...
The ability for them to be given a set of ovaries, which wouldn't be rejected, and and are filled with gene matching gametes, (or eggs) and would allow them to carry children if they wished for it.
(Some of those with swyer have already experienced pregnancy through the implantation of donated eggs.
[And perhaps that's the more reasonable use of resources given how expensive this would likely be] but the premise of such a thing being possible is awe-inspiring to me.)
Obviously a great deal of research, and progress is needed before this kind of thing could be attempted... But scientists have already made fully functional external genitalia for women born with MRKH (Mullerian agenesis)... Based on their own cell line...
There's no real reason to think that we can't do more, and have even stranger accomplishments ahead...
Anyway, if you've read all if this, you now know how much of a nerd I am, for all kinds of biology... 😂 Do you still have those notes? Or anything else I could look at for that matter, as far as it relates to female developement? I would very heavily appreciate having access to that.
