There are so many mistakes in the text, we don't even know what the victim's name is: Lisa, Lita, Leatha, Leather, Let Us, Left, Later... That kind of nonsense wouldn't pass muster in high school.

How many name changes can the daughter have ? I think you really need to look at the interpreter of this story. It is terrible, the sentences don’t make sense. This makes it hard to follow the story. Taking away the enjoyment of reading as you try and unravel the words. How can you keep changing names etc. . An extremely bad piece of work that destroyed the story completely. The longer the story goes on the more unreadable it gets. So bad that I’ve given up trying to. It’s a complete disaster.

This story is unreal. Why? Because no one can pay that kind of money in one lump sum. Child support is given on a monthly basis & determines how much the spouse makes as well as alimony. The judge determines the money based on income. Compersation is from the affair partner but here in the USA compersation isn’t heard of. U get divorced & that’s it as well as Ailmony determines if the spouse hasn’t a good income & only for so many months r the person gets married.

Hi, You seem to think that this story is written with the US reader in mind. After reading/listening to many many stories like this one I figured out that they are originating in Japan, and written for anyone that understands English. I'm European, by the way and the world is so much larger and more diverse than just the US. Sometimes the writers pretends that the stories take place in the US, but anyone that have some experience of US can tell that it's not happening there. The rules and proceedings you are are referring to are examples of this. When listening to these stories, you just have to forget that you are from wherever you're from and just try to be a world human. It's so much simpler that way. Yours, Ann

Please, please, don't treat premeditated murder (two counts because Mariel was his second intended victim), arson, physical and mental abuse, and child endangerment, as if they are nothing but slight problems. Jackson will be in prison for the rest of his life.
He (and/or his family) can also be sued while he is in prison. At the very least, he and his family should be paying the medical bills for anything related to both the physical abuse and the costs of Laetha's stay in hospital as well as any on-going treatment, including psychological for both Laetha and Mariel. As for paying a lump sum?
The costs after any insurance is applied should be well in excess of half a million dollars, I should think.
What is the value of two lives? I can't answer that except to say that it's not a mere few thousand dollars.
As for the affair partner - forget her. She doesn't matter one bit. And, unless she's as much of a toxic narcissist as Jackson, she probably in horrified and will suffer a lifetime of regret.
I know it may sound horrible that I'm insisting that it's so important to do research before writing a story, but it is. If the writer wants firm ground to stand on, identifying places some research will help is a key thing.

Hi, First this is a made up story. Second it's not set in the US, even if the writer has placed the particulars there. It's almost certainly written out of Japan, by somebody without any personal knowledge of how things work in the US. They churn out hundreds of these stories, if not daily so at least weekly. Third. They aren't even written with the US reader in mind, even if you are welcome to read/listen to them too. I'm from Europe and I consume bunches of these daily. They don't reflect any situations in any country around here either. These stories are fluff, and are best approached as such for one's sanity, as far as I've found.
There is one of these channels that are a bit more substantial than this, and that's "Revenge Show". It has a human woman reading, and the content is much more grounded. Yours, Ann

Folks, in reply to all of the comments below about poor grammar and the characters' names changing frequently, I'd like to toss in a few words of possible explanation.
Please remember that the English words are the result of a transliteration, from Japanese to English and, think were done by something like Google Translate. I could see that in the phrase 'virgin road', which was as close as the translator could get to 'walking down the aIsle', for example.
Yes, there are places where a reader has to wade through several words, saying some aloud, probably, to figure out that they were what the computer translated the name to sound like.
We use pronouns in English to identify gender, relationships, possession (this is her toy, for example). In Japanese, there is no similar pronoun structure, so assigning the correct English pronoun is difficult. (I, you, he, she, it, we, you, they or Me You, Him/Her/It/Us,, and Them don't exist in Japanese. And. since far too many English speakers incorrectly use pronouns on a daily basis, I certainly can't fault anyone whose first language isn't English from making errors.)
Of course it's frustrating to run up against these kinds of difficulties, but please remember that other cultures and languages have different origins and rules. The fact that these writers are attempting (with or without computer assistance) to tell a tale in a language that is so different from their own is an endeavor that I wouldn't dare try.
This doesn't mean that I haven't given constructive criticism (constructive criticism is a tongue-in-cheek phrase. I can be an old bear.). See my other message below...but saying a story is a disaster is pretty harsh. Most of these stories aren't terrible. They're beginning efforts and that's not a bad thing at all.

What you say maybe so, but there is no excuse for interpretations not being properly edited. This story is narrated as if it's in bullet form rather than being read in an easy flow. If this is an educational exercise in English, then I question the instructors qualifications. Very poor effort.

I find that characters in these stories frequently get sex changes and name changes to go with it.
