Not sure my wife would agree with the "it's futureproof darling" when I've spent the new car fund on a simrig and put it in front of the family tv in the lounge. 😂

Congrats on your 1k subs! Funny that since you're from the other side of the world you've been to Belgium to drive Spa and bought your pc from Belgium. Greetings from Belgium :)

If i had the cash I'd defo have went a very similar route to you. I got into this just over a year ago but had to build up my rig a bit at a time as i saved up the money. But now it's all coming together nicely and i'm so happy with what i've built.

If I would've had a crystal ball a year ago when I started, I would've done something like that myself. Not THAT high end for budget reasons, but definitely some better gear than my current T300 wheel and Playseat Challenge "rig". But as I was unsure of whether I would even really like sim racing, I couldn't justify spending more than a few hundred euros. But then again, this setup has served me well so far and they got me into the 101-102% laptimes, so I can't complain :)

There are really a lot of things we have in common. I started with PS1 GT1 & GT2 (obviously with controller), then PC with Colin McRae Rally 2.0 etc. on keyboard. Then no more racing/gaming and never online Multiplayer. Forward to 2024, I bought a PC (7800X3D, RX7800XT, 32GB 6000, 2TB SSD) + 3x 27" WQHD 1440p and my first wheel and pedals ever: Moza R12, KS Wheel (formula style) and SRP pedals (I play on table because of the lack of place in my flat). I am 38 yrs now, gone from 0 to 100 (for me at least). Also got my LFM license recently. Then I found your channel. Keep up the good work, greetings from Berlin, Germany. 💯🏁1️⃣

That sounds nearly identical to my story! Its been good fun getting back to sim racing. I honestly wish I never got rid of my GT set up all those years ago. Even if it only would have been used every few months. Hopefully see you on track soon!

Congrats on 1k mate, well deserved. Remember subbing when you were on 12 subs, lol, really not long ago. You're one step above me on specs, I run a i9 13900KF and a 4080 with 64gb of ddr5 ram so I pipped you there haha. I opted for the Logitec Pro DD but regret it now, not that it's a bad wheel but I bought it pretty soon after release and expected more addons sooner but it's been 2 years and they just released some lacklustre wheels and a seq shifter, no H pattern. Seriously considering selling it on and going with Simagic, lots of good reviews.

I cant believe we are talking about 1k already! Thank you! Yea the Logitech stuff promised lots and didn't really deliver did it? I can see the reason to go with it on release, and its a real shame the extra add ons have taken so long!

That is a stunning room to be in mate, well done. I run a Trak Racer TR160 as well together with the same seat. Brilliant piece of kit and future proof.

Thank you mate! I remember chatting to you in Rory's chat back in July when the rig first showed up, and you mentioned you had the TR160. Pretty sure Cranki mentioned his rig had just shown up as well. Time fly's ae! It is a great bit of kit and completely future proofed!

Yea although I’m doing well on controller, basically getting pro am times like on spa with 2 18s, I do still want to get a wheel cuz it’s like the goal. Controller is good but wheel seems to be more satisfying once you can afford it

Tbh i need a new rig myself. Have a new pc, have an amazing wheelbase aka the sinagic ultimate but need to upgrade my rig. The tr160 seems very nice.

There are a lot of nice rigs out there. I can obviously speak highly about the 160s, and personally I like the 'S' bend in the lower frame. I think its a slick design! I also think the additional attachment options from Trakracer are really nice as well. So will be able to build this out as needed in the future.

as a university student in this economy i'm satisfied with my g29. a lot of the guys i race against are on high end rigs and their pedals alone cost more than my entire setup, but i'll still give it my best shot and you can get to a fairly high pace ceiling on starter equipment. i'm just grateful to have a wheel and pedals to race on

    • @luizarthurbrito
      @luizarthurbrito 3 часа назад

There are people who get to esports level on a logitech. If your only goal is lap time, the g29 doesn't really get in the way, it's all a matter of getting used to it. The thing the g28 can't do is to be super immersive.

@@luizarthurbrito "If your only goal is lap time, the g29 doesn't really get in the way,"
      - um, yeah it does. the lack of proper ffb can really screw you especially when catching slides and driving aggressively on low tc. DD is just faster. also, good pedals can easily gain you a few tenths as the g29 ones are for lack of a better word, shit. and i'm not slow, i race in leagues and am solidly in the 101% sometimes faster on tracks i'm used to

Love your sim! After a year id like to switch from the g29 to something better too. I thought about the r9 with gs weel and cheap pedals from moza, but i dont think i could afford that really. Do you have any idea round about 800€ ?

did the same, invested in good HW from the beginning, but i think you made a mistake going intel root at this point, there is no better processor atm than 7800X3D for gaming (ACC included)
