Diffuser for the light is for helping you to see if you have highspots on the paint. After ceramic coating a car you go around the car with the diffused light, too see if you have wiped the coating properly off.
Remember, a diffuser like that only works IF you are in a room with reflective walls and ceiling. You are spreading the light almost 180 degrees - and for the diffuser to work on the car - the light must be reflected back from walls/ceiling. Outdoors it will just dim the light - which you can do directly on the lamp anyway.

Does it really work for high spots? I been looking for something that can point it out better.
