I forgot to mention how fantastic this piece is and how thankful i am to be able to listen to it thanks to your upload!
This work was awarded the second prize in a competition for chamber music with winds in 1896 by a jury consisting of Johannes Brahms, Richard von Perger and Eusebius Mandyczewski. The first prize went to Walter Rabl (Quartet op. 1), the third to Alexander Zemlinsky (Trio op. 3).
This is beautiful, thank you.
pro trick: you can watch series on flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Oscar Jamal definitely, I've been watching on Flixzone} for since december myself =)
May I ask why there is a part missing in the middle of the 4th mouvment?
I feel a little paranoid, but i am quite sure to hear a double bass playing on multiple occasions. Where did you get the recording from?
It's a really clear and wide-range Orfeo (ORFEO S-182891) recording. Its CD mate is Archduke Rudolf's Septet. Here's the instrumentation: violin, viola, cello, clarinet, bassoon and two horns. I suspect you're hearing cello notes down toward the bottom of the instrument's range.
