I always had this theory that Sans' real name is "Comic" cause his font is Comic Sans, but he hates the name so just has everyone call him Sans. (But when they are by themselves, Papyrus calls him Comic, just to annoy him. And *maaayybe* called him Comic once or twice in public, it's just great.)
