This is not working on my A6. I have a pin to shut down and to start up. I did exactly what you did to get into recovery mode but it opened back up with pin requirement.

It's not a decode. This is a factory reset or device wipe, which is different from the meaning of unlocking.

You can also do this with a restart if you don't know your password. Once your phone goes off for the restart, hold the power button and the up volume button and the screen should show up. It showed up for me personally.

@@MattsAttack9 I personally did not lose anything because i had a lot of things backed up and i had accounts for my apps so i couldn't lose progress in the apps. But I'm not sure if that's the same for everyone else
