He couldn’t blame his mother directly for the attack as that would be seen as extremely disrespectful to the dynasty, so later instead entrusts Hurrem to Ibrahim (Ibrahim in particular because Ibrahim is the son-in-law of Valide, meaning if going forward Ibrahim does anything to Hurrem, Valide loses her son-in-law and her own daughter Hatice will become a widow again. This move itself tied Valide and Ibrahims hands in one) and also then tells Ibrahim before telling anyone else that he will officially marry Hurrem. Suleyman also tells Ibrahim not to even tell Valide about the official marriage (another clever move from Suleyman to see if Ibrahim went running to tell Valide, because if Ibrahim did tell Valide, Valide would immediately put a stop to it or make the order again to kill Hurrem, which would confirm Suleyman’s suspicions). This was also another way for Suleyman to test Ibrahims loyalty. He then married Hurrem after this attack, disobeying Valide and also showing Valide that Hurrem will now be untouchable (it was another way of showing Valide that an attack on Hurrem meant an attack on him and that he will no longer let Hurrem be so defenceless again). A very clear sign that Suleyman knew the order to attack Hurrem came from Valide hence such a rebellion against Valide’s own order which was for Suleyman to absolutely not marry.
