      Once I didn't do it and I had serious eye burns that night, couldn't sleep. After that I always shut them!

    Wow! You made a knife out of essentially cast iron(I see why you used a core of 1070 in it), it looks great and you showed how. To that I say 'tank you good sir'.

    That's exactly what they were! If you look at the samples of that time, they were a little rough, often with blackened blades, simple knives whose production could easily be established in a warring country. He was equally good at cutting food and sentries. Thanks, among other things, to such knives, our great-grandfathers crushed the Nazis! Thank you for the video, wonderful knife!

      По учебнику при снятие часового нужно держать лезвием вверх и наносить удар снизу-вверх. Перерезать горло часовому тоже удобно. Для этого у этого ножа обратная гарда. Есть учебный материал по этому ножу времен Великой отечественной войны.

    Здорово! Но на рукоять лучше использовать карельскую берёзу, или кожу, так было бы ближе к правде. А ещё советские бойцы часто модернизировали свои ножи НР-40, делая наборные рукояти из плексигласа.

    That knife is awesome, but I'm concerned about it's structural integrity, considering how close to the edge the pin hole is, how there's only a single pin, and how short and thin the tang is. Still, looks great, and seems to cut well.

    I really like these unique items which you make, and the way you take something, sometimes with relevance to the end product, and re-purpose it. Like turning a piece of tank track into a knife.

      Flux (usually Borax). Used to clean the oxydes and have a good forge weld.

    I jus think if the guard not supposed to be rotate 180 °, the lower part oriented to de pomel, and the upper part oriented to the tip of the blade.
