one of the few guitar players who can find the right balance between insane technique and beautiful melodies.
Such sweet and unique playing, haven't heard anything like that in a long while. Got a new artist to explore about!
Dude this guy shreds. check out some of his guest solos on david maxim micics eps
Man, you said that right. Just incredible the amount of talent out there right now on everywhere, but especially on guitar. Jakub, David Maxim Micics, Plini, Polyphia, Intervals...I have only recently discovered all these phenomenal talents. Every one of the are the real deal.
And so frickin' young its almost sickening. lol :D
I know right?! I mean the way these guys phrase their songs, it's just phenomenal! Perfect blend of melody, technicality, tone, and song writing skills. It's just overwhelmingly amazing with all these artists.
And about the shredding part, almost every new guitarist shreds these days but imo it's about that harmony which these guys can achieve without shredding over the top and still being unbelievably insane at writing the speedy stuff.
+Ryan McCarthy: You nailed it man. You can tell from my handle who I idolize - Joe for me will always be the "best". But Jakub and all those folks I mentioned totally blow me away not simply for their chops, but what I feel is a real maturity in their songwriting, melodic structure and throw some amazing production values in to boot [which I know were not produced in multi-million dollar studio environments.]
I enjoy and respect shredders - but to me there's a huge difference between Paul Gilbert for instance and Michael Angelo Batio...I can listen to Paul all day long and Michael...eh, not so much after five minutes. And that is acknowledging that MAB is a monster player. Know what I mean?
All these post-modern millennial musicians so far have totally knocked my socks off. Truly.
Absolutely, it's all about different levels and kinds of expressionism man. If we watch someone like MAB or Loomis, we can be nothing short of awestruck with their skill and abilities. But sometimes, "sometimes" this slow and soulful music is where it makes a listener feel at home.
And speaking of the recording environment and just overall presentation with these new talents, do take a look at the official video for this very song that Jakub is playing above.
Poor guy at 3:08 was digging it and did not get to record it Haha. That would be my reaction though. I love the arpegiations and the overall vibe. Just stellar stuff.
Wow was anyone paying attention? Jakub's playing is so precise and underrated.
Love this song and the tone.
Fresh kind of guitar playing :) So sweet !
