First of all congratulations to AIR 1 Mrinal no matter what anyone says he deserved it.I have been through NEET, though I did not get AIR 1 my rank is in 4 digits however I feel I can actually comment on the whole issue, I have studied the entire syllabus and gone through the entire process and let me tell you it is not possible to actually score 720/720 just by studying 4 hours everyday for 2 years! That is a fact and no matter how much you say it is not up for debate. For a 11th class student or 12th class student the amount of syllabus is way too wast. No matter how fast you are, no matter how easily you can comprehend things, no matter how sharp your memory is it is not humanly possible to cover such a vast syllabus of 3 different subjects, practice lots of questions and give mock tests in such less time. You can watch tv shows or do some extra curricular activity but covering all that in 2 years if you study 4 hours everyday is not possible.
If you are deciding to prepare for NEET trust me the process is not simple it’s brutal there would be times when you will just wanna quit, seeing such interviews breaks my heart, the amount of misinformation people can spread, if you want to give NEET and actually get a college you would have to sacrifice a lot of things I know it sucks but sadly it is this way.

Truly agree with this. We are so obsessed with toppers. Today known as a topper and tomorrow you never know what life has to throw at you. Life's such a dynamic state and to make the best out of any situation is what I would aspire for. I believe that instead of copying someone obsessively we should set our own goals, find out and follow our own path which suits us, take responsibility for our actions and handle our regrets because everything in life is not meant to go perfectly. We should be enjoying the journey as much as our desires to reach the destination. Sometimes in this system of competition as a med student we become so obsessed and mechanical with our approach to cracking exams, etc, we forget that this profession holds a bigger goal,a deeper meaning to us. True we have to crack exams in order to achieve those goals but those exams are not the one and only thing in this profession. We forget about our loved ones without whom we wouldn't have been able to come so far.... In times like this, it's good to take a pause and try to find happiness in even the simplest things of our daily life and have the courage to sometimes walk down a different path that the majority weren't so obsessed to pursue, we should learn to enjoy taking things at our own pace. And that will make all the difference. 🤍

It's also the teachers, the coachings and worse, the parents some times!!
Not to mention there is no one perfect, ideal way to do something. It becomes ideal because of the person that achieved it.

So a lot of people have answered this question already, but I’m gonna give my opinion about this now, well …Why now ?
Because somehow I met Mrinal Kutteri today and talked to him casually. If i had met the AIR 1 an year ago I would have bombarded him with questions, but now it was just a chill and relaxed conversation.
Me and my friends were at the Aakash Vizag campus discussing about how lazy we have become post NEET after which we asked Mrinal some random questions about what he’s doing with his free time, how’s fame like , about Football and Video games
But one question was inevitable, Was he really so chill during NEET Prep? So I asked him about this and what he told me really made sense …
In the Interviews he told that he used to study 4 hours apart from School (online classes) but the popular media interpreted it as he studied only 4 hours per day.
He said that he used to listen to music to take breaks and watch Netflix when he was satisfied with his work or got tired. The media and interviewers obviously focused on the Netflix part, and back-staged his main intention that was to be mindful in his breaks. Well Mrinal told the TRUTH 100 % and many channels did a great job in conveying the real meaning, but even more than truth the fake coverage is being done or else why would this question come up 🤦‍♂️. So the fake publicity must stop.
After talking to him about this and other stuff, I realised that Mrinal is in fact an amazing guy, he was simply a guy with a plan ( that worked……for him). He deserves the AIR 1, cause the way he views things felt so cool to me, like the way great people do, he worked hard but planned so well that burnout couldn’t occur. I only talked to him for a while before the mob crowded him 😂 so i can only comment this much. In the end, we can once again learn that:
    • The media focuses on eye catching topics, so the words NO TIMETABLE, NETFLIX were over glorified but the real meaning he meant was Under-Shadowed.
    • He had a plan and it worked him, because he was dedicated enough to do it and had that self control to glide over the vortex but it doesn’t mean that all the aspirants can do wonders by following his routine. The thing is you must do what works for you, Yes experiment different routines and Books, but finally you must choose the person you want to become.
The Toppers are normal people and they give us hope that we can be like them one day. Have you ever wondered how hard it must be for someone who just came out of the NEET saga to answer all questions as if he/she is the supreme being, where thousands look up to his/her advice, that’s hard for anyone to bear and thats what’s happening. I now realise how Bhavik Bansal sir might have felt when aspirants asked him the same questions even after he moved to a different course all together.
Well I graduated from being an aspirant just two months ago, so I’m not a very experienced person but as an aspirant there’s a lot of confusion and helplessness about how to do things, and you have every right to know about the ways, but it must stop after an extent and you must figure out your way. Teachers, seniors and friends can help you so much but its you who has to run, SO RUN!!
So sab apna gyaan ***** band karo !!

You are totally right, there is an implicity power hierarchy when students are ranked. Studying Medicine should always be a humbling experience. At no one point should a student ever say "baas, aj mujhe rank 1 mil geya. Zindagi is complete". Focusing on competitive ranks are narrow minded and detract from the true power of this career: the ability to learn, apply and accelerate new knowledge :)
