I don't think getting to her level in five years is anything out of the ordinary. People who immigrate before the age of 10 can usually achieve a native-level fluency and accent within the year. At age 7, it took me a couple of months to converse normally, and another couple to get out of ESL for good. By the end of the school year, me and all my friends who immigrated with me started speaking in English to each other because we were all, without an exception, more fluent in English at that point than in our first and second languages. I should mention that my mom's boss moved countries with his entire workforce intact, so these were my mom's colleagues' kids, hence why we all immigrated at the exact same time. Some were a couple of year older than me too. We all developed native (not just native-like) proficiency in English and we all started speaking English better than our first language starting around the year mark. I grew up in an area where nearly half the population is made of immigrants, and everyone who immigrated before 10 is indistinguishable from a native speaker, and even some people AT age 10. Personally, I think Liu Yifei's English is good enough that you can tell she spent time in an English-speaking country, but not quite as good as I would expect for someone who came at age 10 and stayed for five years, though possibly she's lost some after leaving.

Yes she has her accent and sometimes weird words pickup. In my opinion, she should be counted at least half native English speaker. I don't think ordinary Chinese people have such chance for English learning.
Totally stumbled across your channel today while you were packed and waiting for the “Covid Police” to come take you heaven knows where. My granddaughter is in a half Spanish/half English school (third grade). I was fascinated by your visit to the bilingual school. Would love to know the tuition. The kids were more friendly and laid back than I expected. My image of Chinese schoolchildren is much more regimented. Looking forward to watching more of life in China. Hope life gets easier soon.

也未必阿，可能有个错觉的概念在里面，正如自己照镜子只要灯光配合，总是比照片要漂亮一些，更容易被自己接受一下，其实从镜子里看到的影像并不是别人眼里的真实自己，只有照片和视频里（当然要剔除美颜软件的功能）才是别人眼里的不打折扣的形象，这就是为什么总有人说自己不愿意拍照或说自己不上镜的原因，就是她其实接受不了真实的自己，只愿活在镜子里面的影像中。
说话也是如此，你听自己的声音绝对不是真正别人听到的声音，只有你把自己的声音录下来回放才是别人听到的感觉。所以很多人觉得自己英文口语很流利，感觉很棒，那往往是因为它自己无法听明白自己真正的语速语气和语调。你把自己说一大段英文的口语素材先录下来，再和刘亦菲比吧，如果还是差不多，那才行。
当然，如果你早就尝试过录下自己的话再去分辨，那你就可以无视我说的这些话。

这英语还差吗？不差啊，而且她口音很自然，有些母语不是英语的人故意发口音很重的美国腔，听得很不舒服。刘亦菲中文表达其实也一般，所以她英文表达这样很正常。
