It is not about demoralising but facts based, research Knowledge based reality- India will surely gain from it. But in two decades we will only achieve the 4th grade fabs. The complex other 3 types will still not be a reality for us. Also, other market players- leaders are US> S.Korea> Japan, Taiwan, China & EU (order of their complex design manufacturing) will continue to grow further. US unnecessarily creates its usual fear led push- but what it is actually doing is using this propaganda to contain China so that China cannot file case in WTO as it will shown as a security concern.
- Industry report shows, top 3 complex designs and chips already are with the US. It is China that is struggling to get the tech from the developed world. Point is, they will not let India to grow out of its own market too and put up a case in WTO on import restrictions like happened in the recent case of laptop bans.

In next two decades semiconductor chips will be replaced by photonic chips.India can put best effort for research in the direction of photonic chips, it will provide a leading start to India. For this a huge research infrastructure. So far man power is concerned India has sufficient manpower.
We always fail to catch this point bro. When we delay for things, we end up lagging behind. Then when work starts we remain unaware of the industry's current plan for the future.
- Forget R& D, in practical sense itself like In Rail track gauge conversion too India fails to see that Swiss trains have axles that convert their gauge width from 1000mm to 1454mm while the train moves. India is now only focussed on replacement of tracks to convert gauge across the country to uniform width. This tech is also missed while we are also making new carriages for Vande Bharat etc.
