In the anime, there was a random episode where bulma fought giant namekian crabs in a lake. It was not in the manga, and broke the pacing of an already very drawn out season.
Apparently it's just a huge shoutout to the god of the old testament. Pretty sure the "only to come back and kill them all" bit, means, basically, the apocalypse. Classic.
The reason Bulma had to fight a crab was because she accidentally dropped a Dragon Ball in the ocean. On the shore, in shin-deep water... She could've picked it up, but pussyfooted just outside the water's reach until it rolled further into the ocean. The smartest character in the show is simultaneously the dumbest and Namek saga Bulma hurts my soul
TeamFourStar has been doing weekly "creator commentary" videos recently that i'd highly recommend watching on your own time after you've finished the series. The most recent episode revealed there are some extra end-scenes that were originally cut off by youtube's 10 minute video length restriction at the time the series was being made, but they still have the files that include those scenes, and that's what they're commenting over. So not only do you get some insight into the creation of the show, but some new stuff as well! Mostly in season 2, i'm guessing. I think the video length restriction had been increased to 15 minutes or maybe more by the time season 3 began. btw, fun fact, all the namekian language in this arc is actually klingon. i recognized p'takh and suspected it was klingon, but TFS confirmed it in the most recent creator commentary.
yeah they've reached episode 16 so far. so that's 16 dragon ball episodes worth of content, + one special so far! i assume they will do all movies or at least all the specials in their reaction series. well commentary reaction. it basically counts as a reaction.
If i remember, ginyu had all those soldiers there because he was trying bew poses with them. And before he and jeice left they did a pose by themselves and the soldiers just started clapping awkwardly lmao
Hearing them mention slug in this episode reminds me... I can't remember if I said this in a prior video, and if I did, feel free to ignore this, but the next movie to check out is going to be Lord Slug, which was released between episodes 25 and 26.
I want to compliment both of you: You both have a beautiful natural laugh. (No fake laughs like many others do) And by drinking some wine you make it so classy 😘
That bulma scene with the crab actually did happened. I think it was like a small bulma filler way back when she was taking care of the dragon ball. She fell asleep and it went into the water were the giant crab thought the dragon ball was another baby egg and gets vicious agaibts bulma until the crab is in danger with some rocks falling or something. Bulma helps the crab and it goes away and she gets the dragon ball back
In the main anime, Ginyu was genuinely pissed off that Guldo, Recoome, and Burter were killed. Ginyu is evil, but he did somewhat care about his squad. Although Jeice mistakenly claims Goku killed the latter two when we know he didn't; Vegeta did. Granted, Vegeta killing them was a valid move since Freeza and his army are ruthless and evil. Not that Vegeta is much better optics wise, but all of those opposed to Freeza understand the necessity of cooperating. There is also a bit where Jeice interferes with Goku v Ginyu and this actually annoys Ginyu as he wanted to fight Goku alone. I can at least moderately respect that Ginyu wanted a fairish fight. Although once he learned Goku had a power level of 180,000 to his 120,000, he got desperate and switched bodies. You could liken Ginyu to a parasitic entity as its very likely the body he is in now was not his original form, especially since Jeice implied he's switched before. There is a filler segment where two of Freeza's men find her and she misleads them into the ocean. A giant crab kills the two minions and she escapes. I think this happened shortly after Zarbon died / before the alliance was made between Vegeta & Gohan/Krillin as i do think the ball rolls into the ocean, hence why she had it tied to her foot when Krillin and co. arrived to acquire it right as the Ginyus showed up. Also with the average power level of Freeza's goons being 2,000, this means Raditz was weaker than his most basic grunt. Raditz is indeed useless.
Fun way to spend the Sunday as usual~ Ginyu is a competent fighter, but his kit is somewhat awkward and stilted in most fighting games he appears in. As a fun fact, this is by design since his body swap ultimate is an insanely unique power for the DBZ cast. Imagine playing a competent fighter like Goku or Vegeta, smacking around a janky opponent like Captain Ginyu, then suddenly being forced to swap with him. This doesn't happen often, but the sheer shenanigans is highly memorable. I think it was Xenoverse 2, but there was a What If story where Ginyu actually took Vegeta's body. Imagine Vegeta acting and posing like Ginyu, the comedy writes itself at that point. While this is an amusing episode, it is pretty obvious this is more setting the stage for the real Ginyu fight after snagging Goku's immensely powerful body. As for Nail versus Frieza... I feel like we all know where that fight's going. Hang in there, Nail. In the canon, he outright admits that everything he is doing from the moment he left Guru's side is basically just stall tactics. If Frieza is burning time dealing with him, that means Frieza isn't guarding the Dragon Balls or interfering with the good guys taking out the Ginyu Force. After all, once Frieza's most elite and powerful unit is dealt with, all that'll remain is Frieza himself. Nail's kind of a chad when you think about it. As a brief aside, have you heard about Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot? It's an adventure RPG that covers the events of the canon story from Raditz all the way through to the Kid Buu fight at the end of the events of Dragon Ball Z, and even includes some events from the sequel series Dragon Ball Super due to DLC expansions. While it isn't a perfect 1:1 of the canon material, it is still very close and lets you really feel the sliding power scale that you've been seeing in the show. I mean, when the game starts you punch for 15 to 25 damage. When you are preparing for Kid Buu, you are punching for tens of thousands or more. That's just a single punch. The controls take some getting used to, flight in particular takes some adjustment, but the battles are simple enough not to be super demanding. You've mentioned wanting to see these characters interact in their canon personalities, and honestly Kakarot has that in spades. It's on PS4 and PS5, and it still has new content being added. Right now they're prepping to drop a story expansion for Bardock, in fact. Leaderboard surprisingly has an update this time around! ...Dende was added. Yeah Guru, that power up... Really put Dende on the board, there. And that's about all it did. Jokes aside, Dende doesn't bring any kind of damage to the table, but the Potential Unleashed bonus does let him fly around faster and even gave him the power to heal others. He doesn't seem to have much limits on it to my knowledge, it just takes him time to heal injuries, with more serious injuries requiring more time. Frieza: 353 Raditz Vegeta: 166.6 Raditz Gohan: 166.6 Raditz Goku: 120 Raditz Captain Ginyu: 80 Raditz Krillin: 50 Raditz Recoome: 30 Raditz Jeice: 29.3 Raditz Burter: 28 Raditz Nail: 28 Raditz The Great Zambino: 20 Raditz Dodoria: 14.6 Raditz Cui: 12 Raditz Guldo: 6.6 Raditz Appule: 4 Raditz Namekian Warriors: 2 Raditz Dende: 0.01 Raditz

How do namekians pee? Do they all just have single use cloacas, or do they resemble more of a human pee hole? Funny thing about genderfluidity, I sometimes like to skirt around certain words, and feel weird about always being fine saying things like cock and dick and penis and such. I mean like what andromorphs, gynomorphic herms, andromorphic herms, and females have in common, and no I don't mean eggs, legs, arms, heads, brains, brain stems etc, I mean genitalia wise. Wait, would they even be cloacas if they were single use? And would they have a pee hole directly in the middle as a result of not having an asterisk hole, or maybe it'd be more directly on the front... Wait, should I be using busts as a metric regarding difference in sexes? Should I have included more then? I'll just include busts in the same way I include balls: In parenthesis after the sex is mentioned, if I feel like mentioning it, or not at all if it doesn't seem relevant.
Nail is about as strong as, or a little stronger than Recoome was. So he IS really, really strong (in the show, the reason he's so strong is that Guru already unlocked his potential). But yeah...we'll...uh....we'll see how this goes. The source material never really addresses it, but presumably Ginyu's gone through multiple bodies in his lifetime. This probably isn't his original one, so goodness knows how he started out. Maybe he started out as a weakling who just got to become the fourth strongest guy in the universe (fifth strongest now, I guess, since Goku's reached that level) by repeatedly stealing increasingly powerful bodies.
Not sure if anyone's said it yet, but that bit with Bulma and the crab at 4:00 is from series of filler episodes, Bulma kinda does nothing for the entire Frieza saga and even the thing she does in the filler isn't great (the fight is the best part)

Yeah, it was pure filler. But it gave Bulma the spotlight for a while, and reminded everyone that she was an adventurer.
