You don’t get a second chance in an aircraft when you mess up. Mess ups like that are usually fatal.
The pilot failed to fly with instruments such as altimeter and attitude indicator, I’m certain she experienced spatial disorientation or just negligence due to poor weather and low clouds. This is completely avoidable considering the aircraft will give automated verbal warning of altitude; moreover, military aircraft such as F-18 Growlers have powerful radar that can map out terrain such as mountains. Someone may say I don’t know what I’m talking about but if it were mechanical the pilots would have ejected. The fact that they didn’t eject indicates they had no idea where they were before they slammed into a mountain.
As a pilot myself, I can say with certainty that those Naval Aviators were indeed flying with an altimeter and attitude indicator. It's standard on military aircraft. I do think that this was flight into terrain due to not being able to see said terrain, but that's just what I think. The Navy and NTSB will find out.
@avestuart I never doubted they had they had an altimeter and attitude indicator as every aircraft has those. My guess is they were not properly monitoring their instruments be it special disorientation or being distracted or pre occupied with something else.

What type of new warfare tactics did they pioneer? If they were women of influence, why had no one heard of them before now? These two aren't the only females Growler pilots. I find it interesting that you think these two are far superior to the first female Navy pilots to become a member of the Blue Angels. Is there not a system in this plane that warns the crew there is terrain dead ahead, like "whup whup Pull up !" A radar altimeter showing rapidly rising terrain ahead?
First question to ask is what was the maintance history of the aircraft? If the jet was good to go (MEL) then the medicals for the crew. Training of the crew? Gender of the crew is way down the list. The state of the art electronics on the growlers are not there to make the plane crash-proof. They are there to detect, analyze, and counter threats to the strike packages they protect.

There wasn’t any encouragement either. Either you performed the task correctly or you were outta there! I would not want to serve next to someone who was there for political reasons as opposed to someone who could just do the job.
When you put gender politics, gender ideology, and gender visibility over making sure our military members are actually trained enough to do their jobs, people die.
After the investigation is completed, I don’t think any mechanical faults and failures will be discovered. I think we can attribute this to pilot error. They crashed and it was more than likely their own fault. They weren’t good enough. And the situation showed them just how incompetent and inadequate they were. You don’t get a second chance in an aircraft when you mess up. Mess ups like that are usually fatal.
@@leroyjenkins4811 Thank you Sir.. Well said..
Don't most pilot fly AROUND or OVER mountains, or is that a male thing?
@@avestuart The Navy will cover it up for 20 years either way.
@avestuart I never doubted they had they had an altimeter and attitude indicator as every aircraft has those. My guess is they were not properly monitoring their instruments be it special disorientation or being distracted or pre occupied with something else.
Most likely what you said is true. There was no time to eject. It's impossible to see while flying through thick clouds.
@@kountrygunz2032 What's to cover-up? Their pilots have mishaps and accidents, it happens. My experience is that they'll use them as teaching tools. Not many years ago a buddy of mine was a student Naval Aviator, two instructors who were very experienced (both male) flew a T-34 Mentor into icing conditions . Icing formed on the wings and they dropped, the ice also froze the canopy shut and they couldn't get out (the T-34 didn't have ejection seats). They both died in the accident. While examining the wreckage they found bloody prints on the canopy handles from the pilots desperately trying to get it open. They used this incident to teach the hazards of icing to new students.
Well…..it’s not the peak of the peak airplane. They didn’t eject means a mechanical issue? More likely disorientation

This. I pretty much ignored the prevailing dei comments. While it is a thing, I do think women most certainly can be amazing military pilots. However, I don’t see how Evans was fit to fly. What type of new warfare tactics did they pioneer? If they were women of influence, why had no one heard of them before now? These two aren't the only females Growler pilots.
