The Alien: one of my favorite riders, even though is not a rider of my era as it were. Note to dirt Mag: it might have been much better for Nico if you had allowed him to respond in French, and subtitled his responses which I believe were limited due to the difficulty speaking english.
The true best ever downhill racer, galaxies aways from any other until today. Any, no matter what current sponsors, payed media or red bull may say. Vouilloz+olivier bossard are the true dh legends, from the times when dh was formula 1. all those suckers gettign drunk were not gonna beat him. Ahead of his time in that too. No one gets drunk now if they wanna get close to any podium.
i was here in grenoble in 2002, ( in fact near Grenoble : Saint Nizier du Moucherotte) and i filmed all nico training and race, maybe a day i'll send it online. He traced this track and just fly above there.
Wow. There were so many opportunities to ask post career questions that got left out. During his career, he made specific statements about tracks suiting him, not suiting him, etc. Places like Grouse where he said he had trained for longer, fitness based tracks but would would need to change his training to focus more on power. Then the time he lost Worlds to Rockwell and had made the statement that on thenopen sections, he was thinking of how bigger riders were beating him. Would love to hear his thoughts on that loss as it was due to a mechanical. Would also like someone to ask him what kind of secret advantages he felt he and his team had at the time other riders didn't know about. Man...these interviews are all so basic.
No they arent...these interviews are fantastic...im sure there are lots niche things we would like to ask all these riders...but i think dirt did a great job
Great interview with Nico he's not just an amazing racer but also a cool guy. But next time please use one more microphone because the questions coming from the background was very distracting.
The legend! Crushing competition for so many years.
Le héros de mon enfance.

Tres drol! :P
Win in DH, Goes to rally, win there, now in ebike wins again. Pure racer right there, would win on anything.
Great concept, courses dont have to be too rough👏👏
GOAT
Great rider and just a good man!
Thank you for an interesting interview.

He has smooth ride style ..
Coolest guy in the world. I wish you had allowed him to answer in French and then have subtitles.
