    I like your video,but I did the same as you thought I'd get away with not taking the fork out . You tuck a different route than me as even with handlebars off the cap would not go on as to much spring pressure . It's always easier to drop the fork out it's only 2 bolts on tripe clamp and one bolt at top . Anyway you got there in the end good stuff 👍.

      Cheers buddy Yes it all worked out in the end. P's don't forget the mudguard and the brake caliper.

    Tip:
    On the later divvys there is a spring adjustment screw.
    If you want a stiffer spring, replace the upper washers with thicker ones. (Dimensions Diam=34.4, T=17.6). This thickness equals the adjustment distance. Screw the adj. screw to soft position, and voila, the forks are in the stiffer position with the adj. screw in soft position.
    When the springs slacks, just screw in the adj. screw some more. Should be doable even with the older fork version without the adjustment screw.

    If the fork was leaking how do you know if there is sufficient oil still in there?

      Get a long piece of wooden dowel stick it down the stanchion tube and check it against the other stanchion tube.

    Hey Johnny have you got standard springs in your divvy? I’m still having a few issues with mine. The front end is quite soft when braking heavily

      @jonyr1TT  4 года назад +2

      I think there standard, front end is pretty good with no diving on mine but it is a low mileage bike 33k

      Road Rodent restore mines a very early 95 which has different springs 505mm If I’m correct. I’ll look into an upgrade. 👍🏻
