Play with assists on authentic and tell me it’s not a sim, without TC, SC and ABS those cars are a handful and handle a lot more realistic than GTS, I get great FFB from my fanetec F1 wheel on PC2 it’s all about the wheel settings
No setup changes I make with any car keeps it under control in this game. Even with all assists on, I can't win with this game which takes the fun out of this game. On my PS4 with a steering wheel and it still is no fun when you keep spinning out when you gently accelerate as high as 10 mph. Quite disappointing. At least the Gran Turismo series is much fairer by far. Even if the handling is historically inaccurate with those cars, I don't care. Who wants to play an unwinnable game anyway?
@@FormulaPunRacer yeah sorry but that is 100% a you problem, either your driving or your configuration/wheel settings. I play with a Logitech G27 wheel on a PC so idk what PS4 hardware and input settings exist, but either something like your wheel’s degrees of rotation isn’t mapping correctly… or you’re just expecting a sim racing game with realistic physics and realistic vehicle dynamics/handling characteristics to behave like an arcade game. My money’s on the latter since that’s the issue with about 50% of my friends that have tried it at my house using my setup. If you’ve been conditioned playing titles like GT and especially super arcade type driving in games like GTA and expect cars in PC2 to react anything like driving in those games, actual sim driving is not for you. Same thing applies if you don’t have any actual experience driving performance-oriented cars that are RWD in real life with at least reasonably high HP (at least 300-350hp). As someone with 20 years of performance driving experience in real cars with up to 650hp down to ~200hp, I can assure you this game isn’t far off from the real deal - that is, in terms of production road car handling… I can’t necessarily vouch for the realistic handling of any of the race car models in the game since I’ve never driven a Formula One/Touring car/etc on slicks in real life. In both PC2 and real life, you can’t just pin the throttle in a 300+hp car from a slow(ish) speed in a corner or exiting a corner and expect the car to not get super tail happy and try to swap ends on you. Depending on how much torque and hp, you have to eeeeease into the throttle especially when you’re cornering or otherwise not going dead straight… and even when you are going straight you’re gonna have a bad time in cars with a lot of power. This is even more the case at the start of a race when tires are still cold and not developing the amount of adhesion they have when warmed up.
Project Cars 3 can’t even try to compete with PC2 in the simulation part of it. But if you want a Forza Horizon or Grid kind of game PC2 can’t try to compete as well.
Well... yes.... until you feel the physics of about 75% of the cars being totally unrealistic. The cars they did well they did really well, but there's not that many of those cases

and if you were on console with a wheel, your argument makes proper sense since you can’t even get custom configs on PS and Xbox. If AMS2 was accessible by consoles, that would be your type of game if you used one to play PC2.
Yeah, pCARS2 is still great! The only thing I really don´t like, are the engine sounds of the GT3 cars. The Ferrari 488 GT3 sound, Porsche GT3 sound...have nothing to do with the ones of the real cars. pCARS2 is one of the very few games, the prequel is much better than the sequel!
The Ferraris in the last DLC are the best cars in the game. I guess they figured out how to FFB and how to create cars that handle by that stage. Also, PC2 is the best for VR on PC for performance by a mile, matched only by AMS2 and RaceRoom. iRacing is apparently good in VR too, but the graphics are quite dated now. Lastly, in addition to the online features mentioned, PC2 and AMS2 both have peer-to-peer so you can setup a simple race for your and your mates without the need to pay for a server or raid someone elses. It's really quick and easy to setup but maybe turn off the penalty system which is one of the worst in sim racing.
I don’t recall anybody calling this game “bad.” In fact, I’ve seen it being called the best racing game of the last generation by many people (and rightly so, as it’s awesome). Nonetheless, great vid!
Well it is now 2024, I have had Project Cars 2 on my PC for quite a while and enjoy the game, even though some say there are problems. It has pretty good graphics, I play the game in VR, and just do short races with the AI to entertain myself in racing. I think one reason the game had less attraction than other racing games is there was very little way to do MOD support to get new tracks or cars. Allot of the newer games also have done this strategy. Plus the developers didn't fix the user problems very well. The PC2 game is now not listed on STEAM to buy, but it still works on STEAM if you have the game installed. There is now a Project Cars 3, but this new game is not even as good as Project Cars 2. They turned this PC3 into an Arcade game for kids. I have this game, bought on sale pricing, and only got it for the VR support. It is fun to try it once and a while, similar to a GRID game.
I reale dont like how the historic cars feel. The tires feel much too grippy. Also when you drive at nighttime graphic glitches can occur. Its a shame since PC2 has by far the best historic le mans track.
It’s a great game out of the box although the handling and physics are inferior to other sims. The only thing I really hate is driving road cars in the rain. I wish there was a patch or a mod that would solve this issue.

Yeah the title of this video and review really had me scratching my head. It’s been a few years so maybe he was confused and remembering the bad press/reviews that PC3 got (which was/is totally substantiated)?
always found the game to be pretty good, online lobbies can be hit or miss but once you start to build familiarity with other drivers becomes a lot more enjoyable and races become a little tighter and begin to form decent rivalries. driver scores tend to be misleading as drivers with S ratings are just as likely to punt you as the ones with U or F rated scores. overall I still found it to be the most complete and all round racing game on console. Will be coming back to the game after an extended break from it, hopefully its still got something to offer before upgrading to ps5.

Dude, even you're having difficulty with the go-carts? Same here man, for some reason they don't handle well. I recently bought the game and oh boy is it hard...... Don't hate it tho, I think I just need to get good.
I don't like PC1 and PC2 because of their physics but I like PC3 very much. I think PC3 might be the most underrated racing game ever. I don't understand why so few people are playing it. Obviously it's nothing for sim racers (the type of people that liked 1 and 2) but I think for people who like Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo it's a pretty good fit and those are very popular franchises.
Is it just me or do the curbs spin you too easily? I got the game yesterday on sale and it’s pretty fun so far. But my main issue is that whenever I touch the curbs on any track, they just suck me towards them and spin me! Is there a fix to this issue?
I get where you are coming from! It's alright once you get used to it - It's incredibly realistic in some areas and not quite so in others! Wack on some traction controll and it should be manageable!
@@Mojomotdot13 I realize I’m 5 months late here but Average Game Reviews unintentionally misled you with his suggestion. Traction control isn’t going to help you with the specific issue you were having since TC only minimizes the tires breaking traction resulting from applying too much throttle, which is mostly only a problem at slower speeds (unless driving a very high HP car). As you probably noticed you can kiss a curb while going around a corner causing you to spin out at higher speeds even without any throttle applied. What you need to turn on is **stability control** which tries to counteract vehicle yaw (sliding sideways) at low speeds as well as high speeds regardless of throttle application. Just like in real life if you apply too much throttle while cornering with only TC turned on and SC turned off, you can still slide sideways/spin out without touching a curb, and similarly it is still possible to slide some with only SC on and TC off if you pin the throttle around a corner in a powerful enough car. The two systems compliment each other when used in conjunction if you’re having trouble with cars wanting to swap ends on you. And yes I realize you may well have given up on the game entirely by now, but know that reading all of that hasn’t been a complete waste of your time since all of what I said is true in the real world and is exactly what those two systems do in real cars… so maybe that knowledge will help you in real life one day 🤷🏼♂️

After years with the SIMBIN and Rfactor series (On triple screens with head tracking "freetrack") other then MODS, I m finding Project 2 BETTER then Asseto Corsa in VR. (Again, other then MODS>_ 2022 ... AWESOME time to be sim racing
I know im kinda late to this review but I play on xbox with a thrustmaster Ferrari 488 Spider wheel and i am wondering how good the handling is compared to Assetto Corsa for console because i have Assetto Corsa and it feels pretty good considering that my wheel is definetly not the greatest wheel ever but i played PC3 at my friends house on playstation and it felt awful...idk if it was just his wheel or the game so i am wondering if the handling is as bad on PC2 as it felt on PC3
PC2 is significantly better than PC3 in terms of handling! As good as Assetto Corsa? Across the board, no. However some of the cars are as good or better than in AC. The game will of course feel quite different though!
Its not that realistic when it comes to the sound of most of the cars, some do sound good but most not. The handling of the cars and graphics are acceptable. The variety of cars are good in some areas and classes but not entirely like they dont have Lancia, Alfa romeo, not enough renaults and not enough old american cars, but they do have some very nice, classic le mans cars like Porsches and Ferraris and many cool lotuses. And i like the variety of tracks and vintage versions, amount of customization on weather, date , classes etc, so i would say by the end its a good and fun game but not really perfect.

Go with Project Cars 2. In terms of single player content, it's on pole position. Other decent would be Forza Motorsport. I don't know about Assetto Corsa.

This game gives me massive rage quit, I bought all the packs an still not happy with it, Can't come close too assetto corsa, It's the cars handling in project cars, That gets me mad, Complete difference from assetto, Waiting for Automobilista 2 too come out for ps4, I heard it's the best sim racing game at the moment, All I know is project cars 2 is gone terrible....
Hello! Servers are dying a bit - full lobbies are quite rare (at least on PS4) and the matchmaking system is just a list of servers. This is fine, although scheduled races are much better.
I had the same problem even after enjoying the original. The controller settings recommended by 'Johnson Racing' on his youtube channel has made a huge difference for me.

@@Hemo-Dyn first of all, my dream is playing something like the old hot rod game, which was more complex than any need for speed even tho it was released in 1990. It was a blend lf racing game and car mechanic simulator. Second, need for speed has horrible physics, I want assetto corsa physics in car mechanic simulator that can be played online like gta v, just instead of crime missions its all about racing. Like you drive around town and you can race on track, drag strip, have a street race, car show room heck even clothes shops etc. In hot rod youd go to a restaurant and challenge orhers to race betting dollars or for pink slips and goal was to beat "the king" in his black corvette.

Project cars 3 actually has better handling, physics, sound and graphics , if you like pj2 you will love pj3 handling wise , the same handling and Phisycs just refined and I have all 3 projects cars , only bad things is they simplified too much all the settings and menus, but otherwise is a step up from project 2 and I love pj2
It was considered bad by the amateurs who couldn't handle the advanced physics and configuration knowledge required. Hands down PC 2 is better than any sim out there.
I had I similar response to 2 even after thinking 1 looked great. I think it's the anti aliasing. Saying that, I recently upgraded my tv to a TCL 4K and it's made a big difference.
its pretty much a trade off, u can either get very good graphics but arcade physics or vice versa. maybe one day pcs will have enough power to do both well.
The PC version is much stronger than the console version w/ more online game players and the option to easily load in a custom FFB file. Specifically, the latest PopsRacer FFB improves the feel drastically! So much more road & kerb detail, and the strength of centering torque changes this game to feel more realistic even compared to AC or ACC. It's really incredible because of this.
Not a Gran Turismo fan? I know it’s not a full sim but it’s close. I’m getting back into racing and am gonna buy GT sport for like $9.99 on PS Store. However, I’ve realized this really need a steering wheel watching PC2 replays shows the jerky motion even though I would consider myself above average driver.

@@greg6162 I just got GT Sport. My first GT game ever and first sim ever. I can’t put it down. I love it. Playing it on PS5. The controls are very good with game pad. The analog sticks are very smooth controlling the wheel.

I agree with what's been said in the video. Although I do also play AC or AMS, I did have my fair amount of fun with PC2. If you're not looking for a hardcore sim then PC2 is still an excellent choice. It's not an arcade by any means and custom ffb files have improved handling a lot. It's got great career mode, graphics, adjustability, car setup options and looks and runs great in VR too. It supports Thrustmaster T300 and my DD wheel (Simucube) without any issues and I assume that goes for most consumer wheels too. Nice video, thank you.
I was really enjoying this game, just the right amount of challenging but achievable. then i got to the clio RS cup and i wanted to yeet my xbox through a window. How do you fuck up the handling models that bad that a hatchback is no longer fun to drive?
@DanttuwPlays I just noticed there are mods that modify the force feedback of most of the cars, so if you're tempted and your pc supports the game in a decent quality, I don't see why not. Cheers!
It is a fantastic game overall - best sim on consoles by miles. SMS sadly abandoned it way too soon - it deserved at least 2 more years of patches and DLC. Also "nearly 3 years ago?" - it was released in Sept 2017. Well over 3 years ago.
I think this is the perfect game for people making their first move into Sim-Racing. I used to be an arcade driver, a really good one, if I can say so myself. So I wanted to proof myself in Sim-Racing, and boi- I got outclassed so bad in my first weeks. To the point I was happy to be in the top half, which as you know in the public lobbies, isn't so hard. I also had no idea what to do with Setups. But in time I improved in every aspect of the game. I can now do decent Setups, and I can go fast in most cars. I now have an S1800ish rating on a Veteran-License. Love this game. Only thing I don't really enjoy is the AI. They are so inconsistent. Let's say the AI is on 77, on some tracks they will be on your ass for the whole race, on another track you will lap the entire field. It's so weird. And I disagree, they can't defend or attack. I have them most of the time on below 30 aggression, but sometimes they will send you to the Shadow Realm. On 30! The AI always leave the door open, making overtakes really easy, and are easily fend off. I hope in PC4 the AI will improve. Still, I would give the game 8/10. The Career mode alone took me 7 days to play through - In play time! The Online experience is fine, you can have a good race, but rarely with 4 competitive drivers or more. A lot of Lobbies are full, but too many drivers quit. To the point where I lost my car in the first lap, fell behind to P15, but still finished P4, without any overtakes, because everyone quit for no good reason other than "the leader is gone." Still, I would pick PC2 over GT Sport everyday. Much more content and in my opinion, better physics.
A really good arcade racer like you say you are should find sim easy. I had no trouble switching to sim and i was the best racer in a certain arcade game ;)

As a console gamer, and admittedly a more casual sim / simcade racer, Project Cars 2 is still my go-to when it comes to racing. Even on PS5, Gran Turismo 7 just doesn’t quite do it for me - despite the amazing visuals and resolution, it just bugs me that the GT7 tracklist feels far less complete and varied, with full day/night cycle and weather options available on only a small handfull of tracks. PC2 feels far more comprehensive and consistent with its tracks and its dynamic weather & time, as well as the skill & aggression sliders for AI (as opposed to GT7’s easy / medium / hard options).

Whilst I respect your opinion and agree with you on some vehicles feeling "off" this is a phenomenal game, the amount of cars tracks weather conditions lil tweaks and realistic gameplay settings it's easily the best car racing game I've played, yeah it's not as refined and specific as the f1 games or as good at simulation as IRacing, its miles better than what I thought it would be like going in for the first time
Once you actually sit down, go thru all the setting and make good tunes, this game is easily the most satisfying racer game I’ve played on console. Automobilista 2 imo, is what Project cars 2 should’ve been.
Pc2 designed nice graphics are amazing layout brilliant but steer control weather by control game pad or steering wheel is horrible no mater what setings i try i have stoped useing it but forza motorsport 7 amazing

this game honestly is the best Controller friendly Simulation i've played! Project Cars 1 was horrible on Controller but this game fixed that. just picked this up for $8.99 on Sale. 10/10 game in my book!
Hey i've got a question, what cars from LMP1, LMP2 and GTE classes are the best in terms of effort developers put into it? A lot of them seems to be quite off of what i expect them to be. Great video BTW, very fair and informative, keep it up!
It’s a TRULY abysmal driving game. Undriveable from the very first race. It feels about as much like driving a car as trying to ride a pogo stick. Moving back to this from ACC is just an absolute chore. Awful. Just ghastly. Do NOT waste your money on this trash even when it’s on sale. The developers must have been drunk when they passed this handling-model.
The game is awesome in VR, which is exactly how one should race all simulation. However, it's an excellent sim racer on PC in general - it always has been. I'm not sure how you're scoring the experience, regardless of your take on handling, which should only be criticised by those with actual experience in at least several of the real life vehicles and not by personal experience with another game or whatever you read what others said online, which I've not read (I did however read similar about PC1 when it first arrived). I've driven at least a dozen of the vehicles in the list for real and 3 on track, including F3. Not many titles manage the physics with PC2's level of consistency, unlike the organial AC which would randomly throw the car off the track, and I do mean randomly. You can take a stock vehicle in AC into a corner at X amount of speed with perfect success. Then reset, take the very same corner again with the same temps, wear, weather etc and it would fly off the track appropriately 3 out of every 10 attempts. You can take the same corner again at 10mph slower or faster and the same would happen. You could even try it at 20mph slower and the same randomly happens, for the sake of it it seems. This isn't true to life. It's like AC wants to throw in an onion for the sake of it so people feel the title is edgy and therefore must be a 'true sim'. Pcars 2 is a very good sim title.
What? No one but the most hardcore sim racers would call Project CARS 2 "casual". Think about actual casual gamers, or people who enjoy arcade racers. Not a single one of them would say "oh yeah, Project CARS 2 is casual". Most gamers veiw Forza and Gran Turismo as too hardcore for them.

I think one reason the game had less attraction than other racing games is there was very little way to do MOD support to get new tracks or cars. Allot of the newer games also have done this strategy. Plus the developers didn't fix the user problems very well.
The PC2 game is now not listed on STEAM to buy, but it still works on STEAM if you have the game installed.
There is now a Project Cars 3, but this new game is not even as good as Project Cars 2. They turned this PC3 into an Arcade game for kids. I have this game, bought on sale pricing, and only got it for the VR support. It is fun to try it once and a while, similar to a GRID game.

I reale dont like how the historic cars feel. The tires feel much too grippy. Also when you drive at nighttime graphic glitches can occur. Its a shame since PC2 has by far the best historic le mans track.
It’s a great game out of the box although the handling and physics are inferior to other sims. The only thing I really hate is driving road cars in the rain. I wish there was a patch or a mod that would solve this issue.

Yeah the title of this video and review really had me scratching my head. It’s been a few years so maybe he was confused and remembering the bad press/reviews that PC3 got (which was/is totally substantiated)?
always found the game to be pretty good, online lobbies can be hit or miss but once you start to build familiarity with other drivers becomes a lot more enjoyable and races become a little tighter and begin to form decent rivalries. driver scores tend to be misleading as drivers with S ratings are just as likely to punt you as the ones with U or F rated scores. overall I still found it to be the most complete and all round racing game on console. Will be coming back to the game after an extended break from it, hopefully its still got something to offer before upgrading to ps5.

I don't like PC1 and PC2 because of their physics but I like PC3 very much. I think PC3 might be the most underrated racing game ever. I don't understand why so few people are playing it. Obviously it's nothing for sim racers (the type of people that liked 1 and 2) but I think for people who like Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo it's a pretty good fit and those are very popular franchises.
Is it just me or do the curbs spin you too easily? I got the game yesterday on sale and it’s pretty fun so far. But my main issue is that whenever I touch the curbs on any track, they just suck me towards them and spin me! Is there a fix to this issue?
I get where you are coming from! It's alright once you get used to it - It's incredibly realistic in some areas and not quite so in others! Wack on some traction controll and it should be manageable!

@@Mojomotdot13 I realize I’m 5 months late here but Average Game Reviews unintentionally misled you with his suggestion. Traction control isn’t going to help you with the specific issue you were having since TC only minimizes the tires breaking traction resulting from applying too much throttle, which is mostly only a problem at slower speeds (unless driving a very high HP car). As you probably noticed you can kiss a curb while going around a corner causing you to spin out at higher speeds even without any throttle applied.
What you need to turn on is **stability control** which tries to counteract vehicle yaw (sliding sideways) at low speeds as well as high speeds regardless of throttle application.
Just like in real life if you apply too much throttle while cornering with only TC turned on and SC turned off, you can still slide sideways/spin out without touching a curb, and similarly it is still possible to slide some with only SC on and TC off if you pin the throttle around a corner in a powerful enough car. The two systems compliment each other when used in conjunction if you’re having trouble with cars wanting to swap ends on you.
And yes I realize you may well have given up on the game entirely by now, but know that reading all of that hasn’t been a complete waste of your time since all of what I said is true in the real world and is exactly what those two systems do in real cars… so maybe that knowledge will help you in real life one day 🤷🏼♂️

I know im kinda late to this review but I play on xbox with a thrustmaster Ferrari 488 Spider wheel and i am wondering how good the handling is compared to Assetto Corsa for console because i have Assetto Corsa and it feels pretty good considering that my wheel is definetly not the greatest wheel ever but i played PC3 at my friends house on playstation and it felt awful...idk if it was just his wheel or the game so i am wondering if the handling is as bad on PC2 as it felt on PC3
PC2 is significantly better than PC3 in terms of handling! As good as Assetto Corsa? Across the board, no. However some of the cars are as good or better than in AC. The game will of course feel quite different though!
Its not that realistic when it comes to the sound of most of the cars, some do sound good but most not.
The handling of the cars and graphics are acceptable.
The variety of cars are good in some areas and classes but not entirely like they dont have Lancia, Alfa romeo, not enough renaults and not enough old american cars, but they do have some very nice, classic le mans cars like Porsches and Ferraris and many cool lotuses.
And i like the variety of tracks and vintage versions, amount of customization on weather, date , classes etc, so i would say by the end its a good and fun game but not really perfect.

Go with Project Cars 2. In terms of single player content, it's on pole position. Other decent would be Forza Motorsport. I don't know about Assetto Corsa.

Hello! Servers are dying a bit - full lobbies are quite rare (at least on PS4) and the matchmaking system is just a list of servers. This is fine, although scheduled races are much better.

I had the same problem even after enjoying the original. The controller settings recommended by 'Johnson Racing' on his youtube channel has made a huge difference for me.

PC2 has not perfect physics for *all* cars. ACC *don't have* these cars.

It was a blend lf racing game and car mechanic simulator. Second, need for speed has horrible physics, I want assetto corsa physics in car mechanic simulator that can be played online like gta v, just instead of crime missions its all about racing. Like you drive around town and you can race on track, drag strip, have a street race, car show room heck even clothes shops etc. In hot rod youd go to a restaurant and challenge orhers to race betting dollars or for pink slips and goal was to beat "the king" in his black corvette.

Project cars 3 actually has better handling, physics, sound and graphics , if you like pj2 you will love pj3 handling wise , the same handling and Phisycs just refined and I have all 3 projects cars , only bad things is they simplified too much all the settings and menus, but otherwise is a step up from project 2 and I love pj2

I had I similar response to 2 even after thinking 1 looked great. I think it's the anti aliasing. Saying that, I recently upgraded my tv to a TCL 4K and it's made a big difference.
Driveclub is great. I love that game and would recommend it to anyone.
its pretty much a trade off, u can either get very good graphics but arcade physics or vice versa. maybe one day pcs will have enough power to do both well.
The PC version is much stronger than the console version w/ more online game players and the option to easily load in a custom FFB file. Specifically, the latest PopsRacer FFB improves the feel drastically! So much more road & kerb detail, and the strength of centering torque changes this game to feel more realistic even compared to AC or ACC. It's really incredible because of this.

Not a Gran Turismo fan? I know it’s not a full sim but it’s close. I’m getting back into racing and am gonna buy GT sport for like $9.99 on PS Store. However, I’ve realized this really need a steering wheel watching PC2 replays shows the jerky motion even though I would consider myself above average driver.

I agree with what's been said in the video. Although I do also play AC or AMS, I did have my fair amount of fun with PC2. If you're not looking for a hardcore sim then PC2 is still an excellent choice. It's not an arcade by any means and custom ffb files have improved handling a lot. It's got great career mode, graphics, adjustability, car setup options and looks and runs great in VR too. It supports Thrustmaster T300 and my DD wheel (Simucube) without any issues and I assume that goes for most consumer wheels too. Nice video, thank you.

It is a fantastic game overall - best sim on consoles by miles. SMS sadly abandoned it way too soon - it deserved at least 2 more years of patches and DLC. Also "nearly 3 years ago?" - it was released in Sept 2017. Well over 3 years ago.

I think this is the perfect game for people making their first move into Sim-Racing. I used to be an arcade driver, a really good one, if I can say so myself. So I wanted to proof myself in Sim-Racing, and boi- I got outclassed so bad in my first weeks. To the point I was happy to be in the top half, which as you know in the public lobbies, isn't so hard. I also had no idea what to do with Setups. But in time I improved in every aspect of the game. I can now do decent Setups, and I can go fast in most cars. I now have an S1800ish rating on a Veteran-License. Love this game. Only thing I don't really enjoy is the AI. They are so inconsistent. Let's say the AI is on 77, on some tracks they will be on your ass for the whole race, on another track you will lap the entire field. It's so weird. And I disagree, they can't defend or attack. I have them most of the time on below 30 aggression, but sometimes they will send you to the Shadow Realm. On 30! The AI always leave the door open, making overtakes really easy, and are easily fend off. I hope in PC4 the AI will improve. Still, I would give the game 8/10. The Career mode alone took me 7 days to play through - In play time! The Online experience is fine, you can have a good race, but rarely with 4 competitive drivers or more. A lot of Lobbies are full, but too many drivers quit. To the point where I lost my car in the first lap, fell behind to P15, but still finished P4, without any overtakes, because everyone quit for no good reason other than "the leader is gone." Still, I would pick PC2 over GT Sport everyday. Much more content and in my opinion, better physics.

As a console gamer, and admittedly a more casual sim / simcade racer, Project Cars 2 is still my go-to when it comes to racing.
Even on PS5, Gran Turismo 7 just doesn’t quite do it for me - despite the amazing visuals and resolution, it just bugs me that the GT7 tracklist feels far less complete and varied, with full day/night cycle and weather options available on only a small handfull of tracks.
PC2 feels far more comprehensive and consistent with its tracks and its dynamic weather & time, as well as the skill & aggression sliders for AI (as opposed to GT7’s easy / medium / hard options).
Couldnt disagree more with this video. Whilst I respect your opinion and agree with you on some vehicles feeling "off" this is a phenomenal game, the amount of cars tracks weather conditions lil tweaks and realistic gameplay settings it's easily the best car racing game I've played, yeah it's not as refined and specific as the f1 games or as good at simulation as IRacing, its miles better than what I thought it would be like going in for the first time

deadzone 0-2, dial down the sensitivity as needed. somewhere around 15-20 does it for me.

Once you actually sit down, go thru all the setting and make good tunes, this game is easily the most satisfying racer game I’ve played on console. Automobilista 2 imo, is what Project cars 2 should’ve been.
One of the most rewarding too. All you need to do is tweak settings to your liking, make some tunes and you will understand the game

It’s a TRULY abysmal driving game. Undriveable from the very first race. It feels about as much like driving a car as trying to ride a pogo stick. Moving back to this from ACC is just an absolute chore. Awful. Just ghastly. Do NOT waste your money on this trash even when it’s on sale. The developers must have been drunk when they passed this handling-model.

The game is awesome in VR, which is exactly how one should race all simulation. However, it's an excellent sim racer on PC in general - it always has been. I'm not sure how you're scoring the experience, regardless of your take on handling, which should only be criticised by those with actual experience in at least several of the real life vehicles and not by personal experience with another game or whatever you read what others said online, which I've not read (I did however read similar about PC1 when it first arrived). I've driven at least a dozen of the vehicles in the list for real and 3 on track, including F3. Not many titles manage the physics with PC2's level of consistency, unlike the organial AC which would randomly throw the car off the track, and I do mean randomly. You can take a stock vehicle in AC into a corner at X amount of speed with perfect success. Then reset, take the very same corner again with the same temps, wear, weather etc and it would fly off the track appropriately 3 out of every 10 attempts. You can take the same corner again at 10mph slower or faster and the same would happen. You could even try it at 20mph slower and the same randomly happens, for the sake of it it seems. This isn't true to life. It's like AC wants to throw in an onion for the sake of it so people feel the title is edgy and therefore must be a 'true sim'.
Pcars 2 is a very good sim title.

What? No one but the most hardcore sim racers would call Project CARS 2 "casual". Think about actual casual gamers, or people who enjoy arcade racers. Not a single one of them would say "oh yeah, Project CARS 2 is casual". Most gamers veiw Forza and Gran Turismo as too hardcore for them.
So so so much better than 3........i still play it now.....hoping they wont shut down the servers for awhile yet..........
