    Hi, thanks for your videos. I have been fishing at Thompson's - (firstly with my Dad and now with some mates) for over 50 years and always find it to be a fun spot. I usually go to the same area over and over, but lately have been wandering around and around looking for the channel you show on your video: "Fishing the Flats - Searching for Gold" and to date have never found it! I know the channel marker out from the car park (at the end of the bitumen road in... and Ive also looked around in the water in front of the car park at the southern end of the township to no avail. Would appreciate some more info to locate if you are able to provide, thanks in anticipation

    Hey there. Wondered if you've had much success using artificial stick baits/poppers for whiting from here?

      Yes in deed! It’s a great place for lure fishing for Yellowfin Whiting, many people fish with lures at Thompson’s and surrounding sand flats.

    Nice video! I'd love to try beach fishing at Thompson beach this summer. What is the best tide condition for fishing there? Can I use surface lure fishing YFW there?

    • @scaledupfishing2122
      @scaledupfishing2122  3 года назад +1

      It’s best to fish around the low tide and the run in. That way you can fish the channels if the tide goes low enough and the sand flats as the water floods back in. Yes, surface lures will work around Thompson’s Beach and the surrounding areas.

    Nice vid! Mate. What bait was it? Was it frozen tube worm and did you catch them yourself? Thanks

    • @scaledupfishing2122
      @scaledupfishing2122  3 года назад +1

      I was using Beach (Bungum) Worms for bait and yes I did catch them in a previous video. They are an excellent bait!

      @@scaledupfishing2122 Thanks. I have got to try beach worming one of these days; issues are I need to get some fish remains from some where to use in the scent bag; catch some carps may be the way to go; even that can take some effort if one doesn't know where to go. Is beach worming seasonal or one can catch all year round? Thanks

    • @scaledupfishing2122
      @scaledupfishing2122  3 года назад +1

      @@robertyw5718 you can catch them year round but you will find it much easier in summer when there is less swell/storms. The beaches tend to flatten out in summer which also gives you a better wash to worm in. When I haven’t had any fish frames in the freezer to use I have gone down to the tackle shop at Brighton to grab some crab bait (KG Whiting heads) for the scent bag, works well!
