Got this back in September of 2021. Twisted my knee at work and it didnt hurt that bad immediately after so I finished the day. I tried to get up the stairs to help my mom with groceries when I got home and that is when it started to hurt like nothing I have ever experienced before. They said it was prepatellar bursitis and a left knee sprain. I was out of work for a month and had to wear a brace when I went to school. Thank god I have no lasting issues from it and today in August 2022 I have no complications and the knee is perfectly healthy. They did a prelim x ray at the ready med my mom took me to where I had practically had to hop on my right leg because any pressure I put on my injured left knee sent the most searing pain I have ever experienced rocketing up my leg. I went to physical therapy and the nurse was superb. They had me do a ton of exercises and it gradually improved over the next few weeks. I could walk normally on it after 3-4 weeks and even though it still hurt, the rest of the pain was gone by the start of November. Literally that exact day when I went to ready med they did the x ray and the doctor said it looked healthy from that, but that I would have to get an MRI because there was so much fluid that it covered all of my knee cartilage and bone and he couldn’t really tell. My MRI came up clean (thank god no meniscus or ACL tear), they said I just sprained it.
I have something similar I’m going get mri tmrw but did it every feel like you couldn’t bend your knee or there was liek werid tension when you tried to bend your knee
I've had this before from moving a dresser down a flight of stairs. Prop it up and don't put pressure on it. Take Ibuprofen to take swelling down. It kinda feels like there is liquid in your knee. It will go away
Correct. This is better advice than the video. I needed to wait a long time before the swelling went down. Do not do exercises until the pain has gone. The important thing is not to Aggravate the bursa.
I woke up with the soreness and then it got swollen. It’s weird because I am a tile installer. I didn’t have any injury. But I been working a lot lately. Maybe I hurted my knee when kneeling and didn’t have knee pads because I thought it wasn’t going to take long.
Thankyou so much dr. My daughter has this injury since so so long, she did ice therapy it reduced but still little left, which has become too irritating for her to get her on knees.
I got hit rigth under my knee, and most likley have I devolupt knee brusittis, Infrapatellar.. Please tell me how long it may last? my doctor will not do anything, and ive had the bump for 2 weeks :(
I know I have bursitis of the knee. It feels like liquid as explained but it doesn't hurt.. My wife sprayed benadryl on it thinking it was a bite lol funny thing is it actually went down a bit but days later I started squeezing it and it came back much larger. What should I do?
Bursitis is no joke ppl I've been dealing with it for over 12yrs but only about 8-10 months in-between 2½ yrs! But when it comes back boy is it a bear to deal with! Ibuprofen (Advil) is normally my go-to for relief but sometimes it just doesn't want to behave! I heard about a laser surgery that is very effective that I have yet to look into & wonder if anyone has had it or something else to permanently fix this painful agonizing misfortune! Lots of basketball, pulling heavy items up major stairs & warehouse work has wreaked havoc on my left knee! As I'm getting older 52 I really don't want to deal with this anymore!😖💉🥴
Get a MRI if u haven't I have lump on my knee and doctors says it's nothing to be worried about. Bologna I'm getting MRI too. Make sure there's nothing going on
@@Boudicaisback That may be what I need only thing is my lump seems to be the patella. Either way as soon as my insurance comes through MRI will tell whats going on. I'm hoping they can help me.
Lol I weighed 182 in highschool wrestled up to 220 in highschool got taken down by a stud landed on one knee both our weight. Went to sleep and in the morning couldn't bend my leg it was locked straight out. Kept wrestling. Not even the worse Injury got and wrestled on you'll be fine.
@@jacklavalle9650 Hey man, well the injury occured in September and I just continued training which was a mistake. I stopped in November but still did other sports so there was no "real" healing process. I got a Cortison injection in January and that was the first significant sign of improvement. I let it heal completely until there was no fluid in my knee and have now started training MMA again. I train with a volleyball knee protection and it's totally fine. I can shoot, eat low kicks, sprawl on my knee as I did before the injury. There is still a little bit of pain afterwards but the doctor said it's nothing unusual. Is yours gone as well?
It's a DIY op. Swab the area with alcohol and with a scalpel cut through the bursa and bleed it out by compression. Wash it out with alcohol, dry and use stristrips or if you're good with a needle use three or four stitches Instead
@@blackphantom1852 I always do diy minor surgery. This kind if thing is easy to do, I find it interesting and is far quicker than trying to get an appointment with a doctor.

Thanks Dr.. I've just recovered from this...the pain is horrendous..I had to sit on each step to get upstairs..terrible.
It hurts so bad i cant strech my legs out in bed
@@hambungers I know how you feel m8 even the bedsheets and duvet weight on the knee is agony. Hope all gets well soon m8..
Very helpful video. Thanks👍
This was thoroughly explained. How do they diagnose though? Through xrays or mri?
I was just diagnosed. MRI. Going to PT
A good dr can diagnose by looking at it and taking a history without X-rays or MRIs
Thanks for the explanation!🙏
Thanks, what a great channel.
Thank you for the explanation (and confirmation )
doctor how we can differenciate between the bursitis and the septic arthritis clinically
F
Watch video it explains depending what area hurts when you put pressure on it
Well for starters septic arthritis is very rare

Go to a doctor and get it drained
No, thank you. This was very helpful.
Going up stairs is rough. I have 3 floor condo😢
Do it occurs just below the knee also, or swelling below the knee is something else?
Thanks, very helpful.
Can this happen with runners or from leg work in the gym?
I’m a welder on the rail way I’ve now got this woke up in a lot of pain in my knee it’s horrible I can hardly walk at the minute 🙈🙈
Thank you dokter.....

As a wrestler, I got this because of a direct “blow” or I can say I landed on the mat to hard with my knee causing bursitis
Same for me. Is it gone?
@@tbag3813 is yours gone? I think mine is also from wrestling.

Well I have knee pain, but, bursitis isn't it. I guess I'll have to go to my ortho and have it checked out.
