    This week, our #ExpertInsights series brings you co-simulation using Nastran-scFLOW of AGARD 445.6 wing model to predict transonic dip. Watch this video to see real-time coupling between Nastran (linear/nonlinear FEA software) and scFLOW (Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) software) using MSC CoSim to include nonlinear forces to predict transonic dip accurately. MSC Nastran SOL 145 is widely used for flutter analysis in the aero industry. However, the accuracy is not good enough in the transonic region as SOL 145 is based on linear structure and linear aerodynamic model. With Nastran-scFLOW Co-Simulation, nonlinear fluid dynamics (shock wave movement and flow separation) can be considered in flutter analysis.
